Depends on what part you ask about. I have always been a tech nerd, and my background is in high tech electronics. So, getting to work on high tech medical gear is always fun. But working in the medical industry can be a chore. There are so many regulations and things. Also, my travel is a bit...absurd. But that's not typical. My area is huge, so I drive a lot. Self motivating is sometimes difficult, especially when you've worked 40-50 hours in the first 3 days of a week. But the pay is decent. I like my job, but it definitely wears me down and I'd appreciate a less hectic job structure at times.

And yes, there were some layoffs this year. Which doesn't help in the morale department. But that is every industry unfortunately.

My boss and I currently are starting a BMX parts company specializing in high end race hubs. My boy is 7 and I brought up the idea of making our own race hubs and we finally just brought them to market. Currently working on prototypes for adult riders and will eventually build Mtb and road bike hubs along with other high end bike parts.

None of my stuff has ever blown up that I know of. I have seen pictures of a steel chair that got picked up from across the room by a MRI machine and smashed into the sensor ring.
I do have a fun story. I was working down at Fairview Ridges Clinic down in Burnsville and I was there to check and replace a transducer. The transducer I was replacing is used for testicular scans. Later that afternoon, I spoke with Dream (from here on the forums) and he said "oh yeah, I was down there yesterday and had a testicular exam." I said "what room?" he replied, "room 2." I...uh...was working in room 2 as well. So, I touched Dream's balls by proxy. Sadly, when I check transducers, especially linear ones like that one, I do a carotid exam....so it was like I caressed my neck with his nuts by proxy. Neat huh?

We have all the kids start treading water in the deep end with their eyes closed. Then we (the instructors) try to drown them. They have to escape. They don't always escape. Best game ever.
