My buddy is getting married and I'm in charge of the bachelor party. He wants to go tubing/camping and waned to initially go to Apple River, but I put the kabosh on that since I know how dirty/diseased it is. As an alternative, I offered up Cannon River because I've heard it similar to Apple River but less disgusting. Although, after looking online I'm not sure it's a better option. We're looking to have fun but not deal with drunk douchebags the entire time. It would be best to find a campground that has a shuttle for the tubing and seems to narrow it down to this place http://www.hvcamping.com/. Has anyone been here? The website looks really sketchy so I'm not sure. Are there better options out there?
I've been to a campground down by Zumbro that has exactly what you're talking about. It's the same concept as the apple river scene, but more low key. We had a ton of fun there! Sorry I can't remember the name.
I've been to Cannon Falls and I enjoyed it. I think we only passed one group of obnoxiously drunk people the entire time, and the water was as clear as I suppose a river is going to be. Boone, are you thinking of Shades of Sherwood campground?
