    Hi friends.

I have been feverishly spending all of my money on silly things for the car. The engine project is on a sort of hold right now. Not a LONG TERM hold or anything, just a "I need to spend some money" hold. So I picked up some JDM rarities. Some of you know of my little plans.

I picked up a JVC DVD/MP3/CD deck and a mattjk LCD screen for 400 bucks. It was a hot deal, I couldn't pass up. As soon as I laid the money down on the thing, I knew what had to be done...

So I went shopping for an HKS CAMP setup. The CPU has been discontinued it seems. "Tough luck" I thought, but I kept searching. I found a few vendors, but after emailing them it was found that they don't have any left. HKS discontinued it, and they haven't seen one in a year or so. No biggie, I kept searching. Finally after about a week of joining all kinds of import car forums, emailing any vendor that carried it, even begging NASIOC members that once had them for sale...I hit the jackpot on eBay. (Threebay for you t3hw00t'ers)

The race was on, how do I find sensors and junction boxes for systems that have been discontinued for years? I nailed down the junction box no problem. A guy had one new, in box, un-used. It was missing a cable when he bought it, but luckily I work with electronics for a living so making cables and such really isn't a big deal. Score.

Sensors are on the way, had to go through two distributors to get them all, but I nailed them all down it seems. Missing one wiring harness for the boost sensor, but again, electronics is my living...I'll make one.

    What is an HKS CAMP?

And yes, the CAMP Junction Box manual is written entirely in JDM aside from the title and the "HKS" at the bottom.

Definitely worth it for the fish function alone!
    "Fish Function
The fish function provides the opportunity to enjoy your driving experience in an entertaining way. Your driving technique, such as speed and gas mileage, changes the environment of the fish pond and affects the health of the tropical fish."
    Nice find

Actually, that was my real reason the whole time. I wanted a fish tank in my dash.

haha, nah, the DHL guy was bringing the harnessbar, he came a day late. I guess he couldn't find the house with big black numbers on the white trim that indicate my house number nailed up outside. He was lucky he came when he did, because I was contemplating making a sign out of one of my old sliding glass patio door boxes that said "DHL, STOP HERE, IS THIS BIG ENOUGH FOR YOU?! 7415 JENSEN WTF?!?" and stick it on my tree out front.

I'm still waiting on one of the required wiring harnesses I need. It should be here tomorrow. I've been 'slaving' over this current uber-harness that I have lying all over my office floor.

BTW, Justin, where the fark is my soldering iron? Do you remember where we put it after I was done soldering your horns?

Well, it was going in today, until that asstard that sold me the headunit screwed up and didn't send me the wiring harness. I've bugged him for weeks now to send it, and finally got fed up with him on Wednesday and told him to ship it UPS OVERNIGHT and I'd PAY FOR IT OUT OF MY POCKET! He does the noble thing and says, "Nah, its ok, I'll pay for it, I'm very sorry for all of this." I'm a patient guy, so I say ok. I get the tracking number yesterday, no big deal. UPS tracking says no information available...no big deal, happens all the time, wont be updated till later at night. I check again last night...jackoff sends it standard UPS Ground!!!111 WTMOTHERF?!!1 USPS Priority is fcking faster than UPS Ground!!11 :GGRERERRRRRRR@!@!@!@!!1111 So, now I wont see the thing till later next week. I'm going to call a JVC repair facility locally to see if they have one by chance. I normally would just say forget it and wait, but I already removed all the gauges and headunit and dash pieces in teh car to prepare. And I'm not wasting my time putting everything back in there for a couple days so I can rip it all back out next week. I might try making a harness for the radio. I'll find some individual connectors for each pin and just solder them to wires and heat shrink it. There is a screw on the back that I can use to attach a tie-down. I'm just so pissed, there is always one person that does something like this....everything else went smoothly, but this guy was trouble from the start.

JVC KD-DV5100. I'll level with you, no one makes an aftermarket harness for this model...it has it's very own harness that only works with this model and no others. It should arrive here tomorrow whenever UPS decides to drop it off.

They don't have them at UE. I checked. All of them near me. They had a used KD-DV5100 that they were going to cannibalize for me in Woodbury, but it didn't have the harness either. No one makes that harness man, I'm just letting you know. But thanks for the offer.

Why are you loosing your job?

    Thanks Subaru4

readymix, I was going to order one for you from JVC, but it sounds like you already did that. your getting what you need and that is all that matters.
