I have a rather loud clunking sound coming from the right rear corner of my 04 wrx wagon. I happens over medium bumps and with any chassis flex(entering a driveway at an angle, etc). It will happen at all speeds and is quite frequent. It does not sound very metallic. It is more of a clunk or pop.

Just kind of fishing for clues right now. All of the major components seem tight, though I haven't had much time for diagnosis. Hoping someone with the same experience will chime in.

The only mod to the rear suspension is a Perrin sway with mounts. Everything else on the rear of my car is stock.

    TIA.

So, I decided to go over some of the suspension fasteners with a wrench. I loosened the rr strut at the top mount and re-tightened it and the popping is gone. Maybe the gasket at the top mount is shot(?). Anyway, this is cool because that popping noise was becoming a PITA.
