What do you guys think it's worth?
It's a 2007 sti with 9k miles. Has alot of tasteful mods. All the go fast parts gt12 turbo, supporting mods, hydra etc.
No engine. Will need a stock motor or build it from here.
Magnus intake manifold, front mount intercooler, defi gauges, suspension plenty more.
It needs a longblock and it'll run.
Not mine but I wanna know if it's worth buying or what to offer.

Buy it. I'll take some stuff.

Is this the one that was outside your shop last summer?

Tough call on that one. If it's a full car that just needs a block and heads, then I'd say take the current NADA value minus the cost of an STI block and heads at dealer cost, then subtract labor to install said block and heads and labor for tuning time etc to get it running right.

STI short block at the dealer is around 1600
Full heads (cams, valves, valvetrain with headcovers) might run you 1000 on the used market if you can find them.
Figure 24 labor hours at whatever your labor rate for install (assuming 3 work days to install and attach everything @ 8 hours per day) I'd call it 60/hr x 24 = 1440
Then figure in the cost of a full tune on the dyno by a competant Hydra tuner. I'm going to guess around 600 for dyno time and tuner time.
Add another 500 for extra costs that may arise (you know how that goes I'm sure)

NADA lists it as rough trade in 21,600

    21,600
    -4940
    16,660.

    I'd say 16,660

    Car

Really? I wasn't aware about the first time. LOL
I didn't know ike installed a front mount and magnus intake and defi and suspension and that it was an 07 and that it had 9k miles. Maybe it's clear now that it's not the same car.

I think it's worth that with an engine. This market is crap. I'd say that price minus whatever it would cost to do the repair. Ronnie probably knows that better than any of us.

There's a lot of very nicely modded STi's for sale on nasioc right now in the 17-25k range. All with working motors ;)

Thanks for the valid points so far. I can only offer a trade anyways. Just have to justify the value on both cars involve.

It seems like it would be a lot better to put a motor in before selling to me, especially if you have mechanic friends that can do it fer cheep.
