I just got done gutting my uppipe and was cleaning up the engine bay when i came across this part(pictured below) and don"t recall taking it off to get my uppipe off. The only other thing i have done to my car is a dp, but i never took this part off either. Its a 2004 WRX. I cant see where it would go other than around a line going into the turbo and this part just goes around it???? I don"t know what it is or where it goes. Any info will be help full thanks!

it looks kinda like a crank angle sensor but i highly doubt it is if it was just laying around int eh engine bay.

perhaps it is the sensor for the thermometer in the dash.

if the car runs fine i wouldnt be too worried about it

Dude, why didn't you just ask me? lol. :p

It's for the sensor on the pcv valve (the 04+ wrxs have them) but isn't needed anymore since you have that Perrin inlet hose. It used to be plugged into the pcv -- and if you look close, you'll see that the harness is still plugged into it so it won't throw a cel.
