its no huge deal, as logn as you have some decent tires on em (no summer tires in winter). i know people who get get cheap aftermarkets just for winter.

you couold look at rotas (subydude.com) they are cast i believe and are relatively cheap. i like the p45f but 18s are kinda big.

I left summer tires on my old truck and it wouldn't move if there was 1/2" of snow on the ground. Very stupid of me, I know :(

Tire Rack seems to think they don't have steelies for a WRX. . . not that they are the end of all sources or anything . . .

I guess, I'd been contemplating a similar but slightly skewed question:

Dealer sold a sweet car with less that sweet tires. I am thinking I’ll go ahead and roll these til the cold weather. . . stick some dedicated snow tires (question part 1 - what kind of snow tires?) on my factory 16”ers and start saving change for some 17 or 18” wheels to run when it gets warm again (question part 2 – 17 or 18”? question part 3 – is this a rational line of thought or the musings of a whacked out noob?)

look in the mods section for posts on winter tires i made a thread not to long ago. as for th plan it sounds good. 17 vs. 18 really is prefernce although some say 18s are too big, and you might lose performance.
