What Other Gear boxes would fit a 2004 Forester XS ?

    im looking for a manual transmission for my 2004 Forester XS but It's pretty hard to find another manual forester so I'm wondering what other subarus transmissions might fit , maybe an Impreza , legacy ? Please help

    There is one for $485.22, but it's 257 miles away.

    Pretty much any from 02-07 but you'll have to match the rear diff. Excluding STI (you'll have to change more than just the diff).

    Assuming you started with a Manual trans (AKA not swapping out a 4EAT) then you have a 4.11 final drive ratio according to this chart: http://www.northursalia.com/techdocs/trannychart/trannychart.pdf

    So find any other 4.11 final drive or get both a trans and rear diff.
