    I'm still a newbie when it comes to all this, but do I want a cold air intake for my WRX wagon?

    and what do you guys think I should I do first?
    Fix my back bumper [got a lot of scratches]
    coil overs
    exhaust
    and depending on if I should get cold air intake...

    Short on the money, so I was thinking pay for what I can get first but I dunno what do you all think?

    Helps, kthx have a nice day everyone!!!

    First, dont get cold air intake. It does nothing and will only harm your cars performance. Stock airbox is perfect. Do you race your car on a track? do you autoX it? If you do get good coilovers or better a set of nice shocks and matching lowering springs. If you want to get exhaust get the whole turbo back, cat back will not give you much of a power gain. And if you do get TBE get your car tuned for it. Thats just my opinion and i am a newbie as well.

    TBE + Uppipe will run you between 1 and 2k depending

    Might be a bit off on that TBE/Uppipe pricing. I paid 525 shipped for a TurboXS Stealthback with the Magnaflow axleback on Ebay. The deals are out there, a used exhaust will do just fine as long as it's not rusted through or bent. You can gut your stock uppipe or find a used one for 50-80 bucks depending on the brand.

    Yeah, you need to give him the Ray Addendum:

    "Apexi N1, NOS (not hooked up) and bodykit."

    Also, keep your car on jackstands...that way you don't have to worry about EM.

    Mugen makes a really nice fogging kit for your rear axle, I would start with that for some easy power.

    I personally like to start with my tires and also probably add some lightweight and slightly wider wheels, and go from there.:)

    that could not be a bad idea. I am not sure about wider wheels though, maybe tires. If you are short on cash just get a reflash for stage one. Or get down/upipes.

    buy an ERZ up & down and I can build you a 3in cat back with magnaflow muffler for $350 or less... you would have stage 2 (parts) for under $550, then get OpenEcu tune...

    Thank you all!
    Don't forget I mentioned that I'm a MEGA NEWB! =[ So half the stuff I understand and the other half I'm looking up. lol

    I guess even though I don't race, I would like my car to go a little tiny bit faster =P, nothing too serious though. Most of all I just want it to look BAD ASS! So here is what I got so far... White 2002 WRX Wagon with....

    tinted windows 30%
    kuhmo tires with 17" "Hot Wheels" rims, black 5 spoke w/ chrome lip
    and a GReddy BOV type-rs I got for Christmas

    I know it's silly but I like BOVs. =]

    I'm still kinda confused about the cold air intake though, yes/no? and reason so I can understand better. Right now I have a K&N air filter.
    I want some pricey coil overs so my car won't be lowered till next summer.
    So I think exhaust is at the top of my to do list unless I decide to fix my bumper first... Plus I need to buy new winter tires and a snowboarding rack for the coming winter.

    Please feel free to advise me in which direction to go. Positive and Negative feed back are both wanted, but PLZ be nice. ^_^;

    Some small things I have planned that I can afford. Let me know what you guys think..
    Tinting tail lights and reflectors
    Painting my stock rims black for the winter
    Painting my calipers hot pink
    And getting a sub, amp, and deck from my brother

    i think calipers will look tacky, and the point they make for calipers is kinda crappy and peels off pretty quickly. You got to prep them really well before you paint and thats a pain. tinted tails could be cool but you can get a ticket with for that. If i were you i would rather paint the inside of your headlights and take the amber crap out. Get some foglight covers with mesh in them. I jsut got mine and the are VERY good quality off ebay and protect the fogs from rocks and you can still use them at night without taking them off. Exhaust would be the first thing i would get. Good luck.

    ^^^Autozone, VHT Brake Caliper/High Temp. paint. Simply spray the calipers with brake cleaner to prep. No need for sanding or other preperation other than protecting the wheel wells for overspray. I removed the tire, took of the bolts holding the caliper on, sat the caliper on a box/bucket(still attached to the brake line-make sure you don't let the weight of the caliper hang on the line) 4 somewhat heavy coats of the high-temp paint=pretty blue brake calipers:yumyum: Taras...buy the right paint next time.:p

    WeRideXtreme...up, down, and exhaust next. My rear bumper has been jacked up for two years, car still runs good. Would rather spend the "fix it" money for new/used "go fast" parts! IMO.

    Nice wagon btw.;) ...more pics please.

    Did you use brake cleaner to remove the dust/what-nots from them before painting? If you sanded them and didn't get them clean enough, then the paint won't stick very well. Did mine two or three years ago, still look just as good as the day I painted them.-no peeling, I even scrub them clean sometimes and no paint comes off.

    VHT<<this is the brand of high temp paint that I used, worked great for me.

    The VHT black (with VHT gold misted over it to make Java Black) on my calipers has lasted nearly 3 years...but it needs to be re-done now. If you prep your surface properly, there is no reason the paint should flake off.

    I'm ready to paint my calipers but I can't find hot pink or pink high temp paint by VHT, UNLESS I can use VHT engine enamel. My calipers are pretty rusty so should I sand them or only spray with brake cleaner? Also do I need a clear coat or anything?

    Here's the description for the VHT engine enamels.
    Applications:

    * Engines
    * Alternators
    * Water Pumps
    * Transmissions
    * Heads
    * Engine Blocks
    * Differential Covers
    * Brackets
    * Starters
    * Oil Pans
    * Valve Covers
    * Drive Trains
    * Painted Engine Components

    VHT 550F (288C) Engine Enamels are available in a wide range of colors, including exact match factory colors. All colors have excellent durability and superior heat and solvent resistance. They are specially formulated to withstand corrosion, rust, salt spray, strong solvents and additives of today's gasoline blends and degreasers. VHT 550F (288C) Engine Enamels are a unique blend of urethane resins, which produce a tough and long-lasting finish for engines, engine accessories or wherever a tough durable heat or chemical resistant finish is needed.

    It doesn't list calipers, so thats why I'm wonnnndering if you guys think it'd be okay.....Shall I be the first try??? >_<
