should I cut off my muffler or get a different muffler
and should i get rid of my cat?

 

get a subaru, then talk about cutting your muffler, my brother just got a sweet leggy for 1K so dont say they are to expensive! either way, dont touch the exhaust, GM v6's (other then the dohc 3.4) sound like butt with exhaust. EDIT: you should specify thay you have a mid 90s buick regal.

without a cat??? thats alot more involved then just cutting it off, just get a tip, you dont wanna hear what it sounds like, it sound like the raspiest weird sound in the world, next time you hear an old anything v6 chev/pontiac/olds, with a huge hole in the exhaust, thats what your car will sound like with no muffler

okay lets think seriously here for a moment, stock GM fwd trannies are about maxed out from the factory for HP handling, thats #1 #2 what turbo do you plan on using? how many PSI? how are you going to plumb it? it needs oil feed, oil return, coolent feed, coolent return, what are you going to use for injectors? engine managment? you cant just slap a turbo on somthing and expect to go fast.

you mean regal T Type, no such thing as SS., or maybe a regal GS (same thing as a supercharged GTP) but your car will be plenty reliable if you leave it alone, just keep saving for a sooby....btw i dont mean to be negative, but im just hoping you see the light.

I would save your money, dont worry about modding your car if you are gonna want a subie later. save up for the subie and get it sooner. plus onec you start modding especailly larger mods like engine management, the reliability of your car will go down, and its not fun. just an example i normally throw a CEL every two days or so, and when it comes on it almost kills my car (even when i am on the gas), then it goes away after a night or so then come sback and repeats in an endless cycle of i-dont-knwo-whats-wrong-but-this-sucks-monkey-as#$.

just remember... dont go off what others drive and what they do to their cars... I started out like that and no moatter how much I wsted my money I couldnt keep up with the money they spent... Readymix has a really nice car, but I am sure he got there by using wisdom and prioritising (and having a good income)... DONT get into the game of keeping up with the Joneses...

I like my wrx but I am not happy with it... bt I have a mortgage, a million + business loan, some other toys etc etc... I cant go out and buy all the nice exhaust etc, so I built my own.. is it as nice as the ones around.. NO, does it sound good.. in my opinion VERY, others agree... but I own a shop were I can afford to cut some pipe and play....

there is another saying that goes - All good things come to those who wait.. to wait means be patient.. dont drop money into a beater thats all it will be... get your money's worth out of it while saving for your dream.. I think with Jason and others around they will help to keep you in the right direction... and like what has been said.. just drive you buick dont waste money other than gas, insurance and oil changes (other basic maintenance to keep it running nicely) then one day you will be in the position to buy the car you want and the n spend the money to have it modded...

Ihave an RX7 project and I want a 3 rotor and 4 link rear etc etc... this thing will be a 10sec street car when I am done... but I have had to accept that in the last 6mths it has not been touched once and may sit for another 5 yrs till I can spend some money on it.. that sucks but it is life...

I think he should really aim at getting a job before wasting any money on a car or car parts. Just common sense.

And if he wants a louder exhaust, let him borrow a drill and put holes in his exhaust tip. That's what some of us (not me) did in high school. And best of all, it's free! :lol:

hey i would spend some money fixing the things, if any are wrong with your car so you can sell it and have a little cash to buy a soob, no one will buy a buick with a loud exhaust and a blown tranny for more than a ride home.

keep doing one wheel drive burnouts out of firestone and your diff pin will slide out and crack your cases, ive seen it happen, gm designes the worst fwd trannies on the planet, they ALL go at 115 -120K take it easy on that car if you want it to last, expecially tires

 

back on the lat page someone said somethign bout making teh mufflorz. its pretty simple really. if you have the tools. all you need is some pipe that looks like swich cheese. wrap it in fiberglass, and roll it up in sheet metal and weld it to gether.

but i am sorry but a buick with the exhuast picutured in that link...............ok so i cant hnk of any words to express the wrongness of it.
