Ok here's the deal i've caught the mod bug. I've decided the best idea is to plan everything out and research it to death so that i don't take one step forward and two steps back. Here's my idea: I want to squeeze as much hp out of the basically stock STi set up. i.e. stock turbo, block, internals, etc. I've been talking to a few people and i wanna know what you guys think. Right now here's a list of what i'm concidering lemme know if i should add or remove stuff:

    Large tmic
    Samco hoses
    pulley
    port and polish turbo
clip compressor wheel? by like deadbolt?
    Ceramic coat turbo
    custom tune (obviously)

i take it you are already P&Ping the manifold?

you might wanna get a large fuel pump, i guess it all depends if you wanna try and do this on stock boost or not. if you increase boost its always a good idea to have some extra fuel available even if you dont need it.

i have seen these for the RSs but not for any turbo cars. the torque box. basicaly an 1" or maybe it was 1.5" spaces tht goes behind the throttle body, and allows for better something or other of the air flow. estimated 3-8whp though. i will dig up a lick to it later.

this stuff is all iffy, but i am trying to think out of the box. stiffer engine, tranny, and pitch stops and maybe tranny fluid would possisibly allow fo rmore power tot he ground (maybe???? anyone know?)

grouding kit, maybe some type of decent intake? (althoug the STi box is pretty good so i hear)

    remove AC

If you're looking for non hp mod, best bang for buck is a bigger rear sway and end links.

And yes, fuel pump will never hurt. Esp if you are getting a tune.

It may be early in the research process yet, but have you set a budget? Also, have you set any goals for the car? Do you want peak hp and nice looking dyno graphs, quarter mile times, track car, top-end for highway commuter, fast boost onset for dd in the city...
Last question, do you want to do it on pump gas, race gas, pump + alcohol/water injection, multiple maps for different situation? This could really effect the price of yr tune!

BTW if you get a larger intercooler I'll buy yr sti one :)

Since he's looking at a P&P stock turbo, why would he even need a new TMIC? Wouldn't the money be better spent on a new turbo?

And what mods does slavboy 1 already have? Is he already running a TBE and a stage 2 map?

Wow so many replies this is sweet! Ok so lemme answer some questions so that you guys can help me some more. As far as budget goes i'd like to keep the total around like 5-6 when it's all said and done. As far as goals, my goal really is to squeeze as much outta the stock set up so that i can still have the reliability, but i'd like to have a dd/track type car that will still kick some butt at the drag strip. As of right now i have installed or will have installed by wed next week:

    Mods:
-Invidia V3 ceramic coated DP ported and polished with exhaust wrap
    -Invidia G200 Catback
    -AP Stage II
    -Silencer Delete
    -K&N air filter
    -TiC Clunk Killer bushing set
-TiC and Kartboy shifter bushing set
-Goodridge stainless steel braided brake lines
    -Ferodo DS2500 Brake pads
    -Motul 5.1 Brake Fluid
-Satin black stock STi BBS wheels

    Thanks guys

you're going to have to port and coat your stock pieces to get the most out of them. exh manifold, up pipe, turbo, throttle body....then throw water/alky injection in with that and you'll be fast for sure. can someone say SPOOL zingzing

A bigger fuel pump does not equal more fuel, just more reliable fuel delivery I'm pretty sure. If you want more fuel, you need bigger injectors or to increase your fuel pressure.

Well, considering this and the 5-6k budget, if it was my car (and I wish it was :)) I'd probably end up spreading the money around and focus on supspension/weight reduction and engine bolt-ons with tune.
    Something like:

~1.5-2.5k for summer/track use rims and tires
~1-2k for coilovers or struts/springs combo (could get sway bars too)
~1-2k for bolt ons, p&p, coating, etc... (aps header, maybe a turbo inlet pipe, etc... might want to set a hp goal first)
1k for protune and alignment (with headroom for multiple maps - dd maps, crap gas map, track maps, high octane maps, etc...)
gauges would be good to have too

The ap Stage 2 should put you in the high 12s/low 13s (depending on track, altitude, and driving) and I remember seeing a stage 2 sti with yr mods + header, inlet pipe, and maybe fuel pump/plugs make ~320whp with protune on pump gas.

You could spend all of the budget on enigine mods, but w/o building the block or swapping turbo, you'd probably end up not getting the most for yr money.

Now that's what i like to hear 300+ whp is kinda my goal i figure that's more than i'll need to have a good time. Granted that's probably going to change once i have it and i'll want more and this whole planning out my mods thing will go right out the window.

the point would be just what you said, more reliable fuel delivery. w/ stock stuff you prolly wont be doign large injectors, but if your going to be pushign those injectors harder its a good idea to back em up w/ a stronger fuel pump.

for all round DD goodness, might wanna look into some v7 suspension w/ pink springs. i have heard good things about these. should allow yout o have a good track setup w/ sacrificing to much DDness.

also make sure you have atleast 1 pr of MNSubaru stickers on there, those add 5whp each.

HAHA true true, I'm thinking about the Tein coil over set up since i'm moving to California where the roads are in a little bit better shape, i'm still fairly young so i can stand the harsher ride. I'm also thinking rear swaybar and end links when i do the coilovers
