Lund makes reasonable priced boats at that length. The ProV tournament series are quite nice.

What kind of fishing? For bass you can go with any of the above-listed expensive bass boats or get a Nitro. If you're fishing for walleye or out on the open water I'd get a Lund of some sort, like a Tyee I/O or a Pro-V. If you're a musky fisherman like I am I'd recommend nothing other than a Warrior. Actually the Warrior makes a great all-around boat as it's got two big casting decks like a bass boat but has a little more hull to deal with big water. It also has loads of storage space and most come standard with the massive central livewell that can handle 50" muskies. If I had to get a new boat that'd very likely be what I'd get.

I've never really liked the fast bass boats. You know why they make them with massive engines on them don't you? I've fished tournaments, the guys with the faster boats can get to the better fishing spots quicker, though it doesn't help them too much unless they get lucky in the draw for order near the front of the pack. For the rest of us we don't really need such dangerous power, just something that can get us in faster than a storm when we see it coming.

I've got a Lund Tyee that has seen some seriously big water, but having such a deep hull it isn't a very good shallow-water boat. It actually works really well trolling for lake trout on Lake Superior though.

Chux you b@stard. MasterCraft makes some killer ski boats. Which model did you get? I am still a Malibu lover though because of the huge lip off the wake you get from them. Congrats on the boat..post some pics.

Personally I fished out of a Lund Pro V 1900 last friday, and I have to think that's one of the nicest boats I've ever fished in, I like it much better than a ranger I got to fish in for a day.

A great place to check for nice used boats is this forum http://www.in-depthangling.com/forum/postlist.php/Cat/0/Board/boats I seen some awesome deals there, I try and stay away from that area of the forum, as much as I like my boat I could always go bigger.... :D

I have a Lund rebel 1650 SS console with a 40 Johnson works good for every thing but mille lacs, though it is do able.

    it's a pro star 190...I think, something like that, about a '90, 19'....$9500!

we mostly ski, so we don't want a lip on our wake, so a MasterCraft is exatly what we wanted...

anyway, crestliners are nice, that's what we're replaceing, not a great ski boat, the deep V hull design is a bit slow coming up out of the water, but very steady at speed, and allows for an open bow. I bet with 150-200hp it would be a great fishing boat

Off topic but let me know when you are going to be up at vermillion next. I will be up there most weekends for the rest of the summer. We can have beers out on the boat, man.

Explorers are great boats, never heard anything bad about them, I don't think they are the perfect big water boat, but it all depends on how crazy you are or are not. If it's a choice go for the built in gas tank, sounds funny, but a heavier boat in big water is a much better boat to have IMHO.
