Does anyone know of a company that can resurface the lip on my wheels and coat them? They are 18" Enkei EVO 5's and there a couple spots on all four that have pits that are deeper than any elbow grease will do. Sorry for blurry pics, but you get the idea of what they look like.

If you want them fixed, the best route would be media blasting. They do this to strip everything from the rims before the powdercoating begins. Here is the thread and the place that the club went through...best price I've seen for four rims!

    Twin City Powdercoating
    548 Apollo Drive Suite 40
    Lino Lakes, MN 55014
    Contact: Mike Russo
    Phone: 763-785-7900

Mention the group buy with MNSubaru

    Look here for more info\/\/\/:biggrin:

Ok, i think i read in that forum there $220 for a set? And do they just powder coat them or do they polish the lip too? They are gold now, but i would like them bronze. There is a local powder coater near me if i have time tomorrow i will see what they quote me.

Yeah, I don't know if the GB place will do bronze for the discount rate.:( Check around and get a couple quotes. But don't rule Twin City Powdercoating out, from what I've heard, they did a really good job on the fellas' rims!

ok, yah i will check around. I dont want to spend over $250 for all 4 done like new. Otherwise i will just use them for winter wheels, cause i only paid $200 for them with brand new tires from my buddy.

If you want them done for under $250, then I strongly suggest making the trip to Lino Lakes! Check with the contact about colors, you may have to change your mind about the color to get this ^^^ price...but, maybe not. Disadvantage...long drive. Advantage...save big $$$$!

It would be a really long drive for me...... but if the price is right. Also do the wheels have to be dismounted? Cause there the only wheels i have.

wheel repair is not something you can wait for - probably take a couple of days to refinish 4 wheels

Yes the the wheels have to be off the car, and the tires have to be off the rim in most cases as well.

Mike @ the powdercoating place told me he'll honor the $220-240 price if it's for a color that he has in stock. The range in price is dependent on how much media blasting your wheels need.

I'll more than likely be down @ firestone tomorrow night if anyone wants to check out the rims.

I would love to come to firestone, but with the newborn and putting a race car together to make practice next saturday, i dont really have time. Also does this guy polish the lip back to new, and does he clear coat over everything when he's done? Sorry about all the Q's but i just want to know what he does for the $220-$240 range, so i can compare it to some quotes i'll get around where i live.

I would find out about the lip when you get quoted. Then contact Mike and ask him what he can do for ya as far as lips go, keep us posted on that. I've always been curious about whether or not they can do colored/chrome lips with powdercoating.

But can they coat the lip blue, and the rest black/grey?...that is the real question!:p ...mine anyway.
