I am looking for a local shop that can straighten a spoked wheel from a 1978 Honda CT Trail 90. I changed the tires and tubs up at the cabin this past weekend, only to find that the front wheel is not 100% true. I called Twin City Wheel Repair but his machine does not calibrate to motorcycle wheels. Any ideas? PFA.
lots of those wheels on ebay for 80 bucks obo, probably cost you about the same to true it methinks. I'm wondering if a bicycle shop could do it, if their truing stands go that wide, same principle.
Have you tried Blue Cat Motorcycle? They work seemingly exclusively on bikes of that time period and style. I can't imagine they wouldn't have the equipment. If that doesn't work, call Angry Catfish. Hands down the best (bicycle) mechanics I know and that wheel width shouldn't be an issue. Fatbike wheels are commonly 100mm wide. If they act like you're some idiot for asking, tell them I sent you. They'll understand. #kingofstupidquestionsthatendupheighteningtheirskillseveryday
