Well, the lease for my new apartment starts today and I'm having the Comcast people come over on Saturday to hook up my cable (apparently they won't let me plug in the cords myself :(). Anyway, I noticed that the cable plug-in is on the opposite wall of where my TV is going to be so I need to run the coaxial cable across the room.

Where can I find one of those rubber things that cover cords to protect them and make sure noone trips on them? I've found them online, but I'd prefer to pick one up locally.

Here is an example of what I found online http://cableorganizer.com/cord-protector/

Bonus internet-points for knowing if I can pick one up locally that beige-ish color :)

I think I may have found one...Staples has it on their website, I just hope they actually have them in their stores too.

Keep the suggestions coming just in case they don't.

Good idea, but it needs to stick to carpet. I like your thinking though...

It will be going close to the wall, but the wall it will be against has a sliding door out to the patio. I'd rather have it covered just for the peace of mind that nobody will trip over it when coming in and out.

I am currently doing this--I'm using beige colored painter's tape which is meant to be used on automotive finishes (it matches the carpet reeeally well! lol) - it has a bit of a 3M sticky-note feel to it. It seems to be holding on carpet really well.

    I'm a pretty bargain-basement person tho.
