Well the new springs are on so its time for an alignment. Any shops that are better than others? I'm in the Maple Grove area. Thanks
i just got back from getting my alingment done at nates shop in shakopee. good stuff. think it was like $88 for a 4 wheel alingment.
Nathan(wrxboy2003) his shop does them and will do customs. The old fart who does them really loves it when you want to do custom alignments.
I will show him that post Dizmal.. ha ha haha He doesnt mind doing the ones with all the adjustments if people dont mind paying for them properly.. its friggin hard work on some of them...
Haha, he was a good guy! He gave me **** about racing. It was all in good fun. But yeah, its tedious work to get them aligment specs fricken spot on. As soon as you tighten a bolt, its jumped to a different degree! He's not going to be there tomorrow morning is he???!!:eek3::biggrin:
yes... ha ha ha so I will defintiely tell him you said what you did... ha ha ha or for another $10 I will make sure his BFH is locked up... ha ha haa
old fart can move pretty good... I prank call him from upstairs and watch him run the length of the store to pick up is cell.. got him 2 times in a row till he caught on... ha ha ha yes I watch him run from my office window...
Hey, speaking of exhausts Some idiot at an exhaust shop in St. Cloud told my buddy that the dual exhausts pick-ups put on(You know the loud ****ing ones) hurt the pick-ups more than they help. He said the engine doesn't "pull in enough air" and that the exhaust sits there and they probably loose 5hp more than they gain.:eek3::ugh::roll: The only thing he said, that made a kunts hair of sense. Was that the Y pipe creates turbulance and makes the flow slow down. It could, but I doubt it would enough to actually hurt the performance of a truck. What do you think? I think he's full of ****, but just asking.
I think that companies that spend millions developing and testing exhaust systems just to build something that dowsnt work better than stock would go broke.... ha hah if you go to crazy big on an N/A car you lose all the back pressure and surely it can affect performance somewhat.. turbos you want bigger... but really the problem is to go way to big on exhaust size when you arent moving enough air into the engine is kinda pointless... I am not an engineer or an engine builder... so others may pipe in here, but thats my understanding as limited as it is... I know my experiences have taught me some things... like dont be around Fong in the dark when he has vaseline handy.. ha ha ha... JK... right RAY?? besides most duals on trucks are hack jobs that sound like crap... add nothing to the truck other than another pipe...
around $88 with MNSUBARU discount for a 4 wheel alignment.. thats toe and whatever camber is stock... if you want more than you need the pins..
I happend to get a hold of a $20 off COUPON on alignment at Tires Plus (Woodbury) and I got mine done there....paid only $52.99 w/ coupon........ that's setting front and rear toe back to zero. ....up to you....
Tires Plus was running a special a while back, I'm not sure if they still are, but it was unlimited alignments for like $100 for three years. I did that.
I highly suggest not useing tires plus. I had them do my old legacy twice. Firstime, because I needed it second is because they f-ed up and they said they would do it again, both times I wound up with cupped tires with regualr rotations. Had subaru do it, never had a problem again...
Yeah, with Nathan you can help with the alignment so you know the old fart is doing it to your liking. Plus he prints it out for you so you can see its a good alignment!
When I had mine done at Tires Plus, the guy who did it I knew him. I had to kind of give him word on where the rear adjustment was and also tips on doing the front. HAD I still worked at CarX, I'd set it back MYSELF!!! hehehe I need that machine....and the rest of the lifts, and tools,....I just need a shop!
wrxboy2003 should I go through you for an alignment or should I just make an appointment through mineke?
Do it through Meineke... you get a 10% Discount... its around $90 ($88) for a 4 wheel alignment... They will either set it to where you want it (as long as it gets that adjustment ie: -1.00 Camber and 0.00 Toe etc etc) or to what the system says is factory.... if you want more camber and need pins then it will cost more to install pins and adjust.... but unless you are racing you should get away with whats available from factory adjustments...
???? you have to call David.... I am never on the front much... stay away form it and play on this site all day.. ha hah a
Firestone is offering a lifetime alignment for $99. I just bought one yesterday for my WRX. Haven't used it, just wanted to have it for when the warranty runs out. Both of my cars now have lifetime alignment. Both at firestone. Both were $99. I wait for the sales. Derek
