ok...for sring break...me and my girlfriend are going up to duluth...since i've never been up there....don't no much about it...if there's any kool places to visit or a must see thing...please let me know.... my girlfriend loves shopping.... we both like to take little walks... don't plan on doing any fishing... here's just a few things we like to do in general...any ideas would be awesome...oh yeah...and we're staying at the suites hotel..
I always had fun playing around on the big rocks on shore. But that was when it was 80 degrees outside. haha
you should go to that submerged tower thing that everyone dives off of. I dont know where it is but it sounds like alot of fun. Also going north of duluth a ways there are alot of cool waterfalls and hiking trails.
the boat house.....just off canal park. I don't think the ice on that side is strong enough to walk on, so now's not the best time. go for a drive on skyline pkwy, pretty sure Enger park is closed in the winter. the lake walk is nice if the weather cooperates. only shopping is the Miller Hill Mall, and the couple stores nearby.
I had heard it was an old ice house...where ice was cut and brought to shore. Yes, skyline is nice drive. I'd head down to an irish pub or two on superior street, or hit up the brew house in fitgers if that suits your fancy. Canal park is good for pizza, as is luce in duluth, and the thirsty pagan/elbo room/ VIP(capri) in Superior.
I bet that's right......but I've always heard it called the boat house. go figure. oh yea, Burrito Union. 4th St and 14th Ave E. think Chipotle but with locally brewed beer :yumyum: (owned by Fitgers)
woowww...thanks for all the great places to visit....would love to take the rex...but still working on it and wont be done in time..plus..i don't want to do the 200 miles oil change on my vacation...i'm gonna look more into all these places...
stay at fitgers hotel if your girl likes the fancy places. IIRC they have a nice suite with a hot tub. Then take a short drive north on london road to brighton beach (gichigami beach or whatever the spelling is)...very romatic to watch the waves...nice and quiet too.
oh...and the Irvin and Glensheen, if your into that kind of stuff. you can see everything you want to see in duluth, in a day
We stayed in fitgers hotel on our wedding night...nice place...from what i remember. brighton beach is a family favorite.
Since this is a small forum, I will also recomenend (in the summer, spring, fall anyway) a beach outing on superior point in WI (head south on 53)...think looonnnggg open beaches, crashing waves, no cops, and depending on where you park/walk in, little company. Sex on a real beach, for the MFW!
theres a good read on it on the lakewalk, i believe it was a mausoleum or something of the sort, might be wrong though
