I tried calling both Checker and AutoZone to see how many amps their life time warranty alternators put out but no luck. Do any of you happen to know? I dont feel like paying 200+ on a part that shouldnt of died already.

I've got 50k on it so its out of warranty, unless by some miracle an alternator is considered an engine component.

I think the napa one is $270 which is $100 more then the autozone and checker ones and do Napa alternators have lifetime warranties?

    2003 WRX

    100% stock

    50,000 miles

Yeah, I've also had a few times where the car wouldnt start till the 3rd try. I replaced the battery Saturday but there are still pretty big dips to the electrics.

Does the Napa alternator have a lifetime warranty?

It depends on which napa alternator you have, one has a 3 year warrenty and the other one would have a lifetime warrenty.

I work at a Napa Auto Care center shop so I could help you with getting one and installing it.

I beleve the alternators put out 70 amps

I was looking for something more like the 90 amp one for the STI.

I've got an OEM alternator from a FXT that's got about 6,000 miles on it. I'd have to double check, but I think it's a 90 amp, if not it's a 75. I'd get rid of it for $150
