Ok yesterday was kinda wired. I started to notice white smoke coming from my tailpipe when I was at a stop light. I was like huh? no biggy but when I started to drive it was more then usual. After driving for awhile then it stops. ?? I don't know if this is normal or not. If I sit there and rev it shoots out white smoke. Any suggestion?
Coolant burns white. Not sure how it is getting in the tailpipe though. How soon after starting the car up did you notice it? It rained alot yesterday, maybe it was condensation or water in the tailpipe. Did it do it again today?
Well, hope it's not coolant. Coolant getting into the exhuast generally means a blown head gasket, cracked block or cracked/warped head. Watch your temp guage closely. Any of those can lead to a very rapid and sudden overheating. I dunno about the structure of the turbos on the Subarus, but I suppose coolant could be getting into the system there too.
Ok thats what I meant. I have had headgaskets blow on me before. The temp is normal. Driving is normal. So I thought maybe it was normal?
Could also be a crack in the turbo cartridge leaking coolant. If it is noticable white smoke, it is not condensation. russ
I just checked the oil and it doesn't look milky which is good. I checked the coolant and its green. couldn't check it last night because it was too hot.
Burnt coolant is a visually thick smoke. Have you tried sniffing the white smoke to check if it smells like coolant? I vote that it's condensation. It goes away so it probably is.
nothing appears to be leaking that I can see and when I was driving to work today it happened again once it was warmed up and then when I started driving it went away again. Wired. It can't be headgaskets I hope its not the turbo either since I just got it in. But I'd rather have it be the turbo then headgaskets.
the turbo was perfect when i gave it to you! no shafty play....i hope its not the turbo, hows it boosting?
its holding boost good. It feels great. But I haven't really pushed it since I notice the white smoke yesterday.
