I attempted this once and wasn't able to loosen 2 of the bolts as it has some rust prevention spray on them. Plus not having any leverage as I was on my back to try and turn these. It would take about 5 to 10 min to install this if only I could loosen them. Does anybody know of an easier way of getting these off or is there a shop that can help me out? Let me know thanks.
i am not sure the angles you have to deal w/, but maybe you could fit a pipe over yuor wrench or something to get more leverage. otherwise you might need an impact wrench.
you should be able to use a pipe with all 4 of those bolts. put a 2-5inch extension on the socket and through the pipe on the wrench, wallahh. as a side note, depending on how bad it is rusted you make break the bolt, so it wouldnt be a bad idea to stock at the dealership and pick a couple extras up.
I'm assuming you tried PB blaster or deep creep or something and tried different sockets (12 pt, etc...)? If you still cant break them loose using the suggested methods, most shops will do it for free or little charge $5-10. Just dont bother them when they're busy...
first of all dont use 12 point soclets unless it is a 12pt nut.. can someone say rounded edges.... maybe get a little butane torch and heatr up the area (might not be a great idea if it has coating crap all over it but thats what most techs will do with rusted or stuck bolts... heat them up and the area around them...) or also try what was suggested... Some sort of quality penentrating spray.. soak it, spray it, let it soa some more and spray again.. do this for a day or two... then use the extension bar or an impact... yes most shop would help out for $5-$10 unless it snaps then you are in deep doo doo cause NO tech will then extract it on his time or shop time without you paying for it... unless they have absolutely NOTHING else to work on....

no probs.. I thought for a sec that the whole "1st of all" would sound wrong... it was more for a first of all point 1 then point 2 etc etc... sorry if it sounded wrong
no worries, rounded bolts suck so the clarification was needed... The previous owner of a previous car of mine rounded the oil pan bolt, tranny drain bolt, 1 hub nut and really tore up some of the interior screws around the stereo... new surprise everytime I worked on the car.
Yeah, a impact wrench would make it soooo much easier. Also having it up on a hoist makes it easy too. I did mine like a month ago and it was a breeze, just needed a extra person to pri on it a little bit to line up the last bolt.
