Installing springs is easy, 1hour or 3 job :D Depending on the conditions of your bolts.

It took me 3-4 hours to finish the spring swap on my old RS. While I was changing my springs, I found out that a rear strut was blown. I then had to do the install a month later to swap into a set of KYB GR2 struts. To make the install a bit faster, a small socket wrench will help out a lot for the 3 + 3 rear strut top bolts (unless you have a wagon).

did you already purchase it or planning to? item# 2472535756 is the cheapest I've found for $212.95 plus s/h each. if we purchase two(2), We will be paying $205.45 each for a total of $410.90. How does that sound? still has nine days left before auction ends.

Hey John, I'll get it soon before auction ends but right now I dont have $400. We'll see if I can wrack up $400 in 9 days. If I can't, I gotta get it through you. I have an 00 rs sedan a little different from the pix(it'll be almost like it soon :D). I'm gonna borrow the spring compresors from a shop. Do the work next month or so. You got a reply yet about todd?

John, yes u do need a compress tool to work with the spring. It can be dangerous if you don't do it right... having that spring unwind can be very uncool.

Vic, you haven't changed springs in a GC Impreza before, have you? I didn't need a compressor for mine... just another person to help use their weight to compress the spring just enough to tighten the top strut bolt. That'll save you an hour. ;)

You guys are all too funny.................E

Fong is 100% correct. Save your money and learn to do it yourself or someone else would be happy to take your money from you. The install is not hard, the $180 is a hourly labor shop fee. Whats the worst that can happen after all that info you have recieved here...........rusted strut bolts. IMO

    Enjoy.

No prob. Make sure you use the service manual so you don't strip any bolts or anything. If you guys need me to stop by and take a look at some things, let me know where and when. I'll see if I can make it... how about this Sat at 11am?
