I am planning to get a set of eibach spring or others name bands..but who can install them around town. I think Cha's is on crack or something when I called him....he said is lots of work, and it will be around 600 buck?! come on to intall four spring?!?!??! PJ
It took me 3-4 hours to finish the spring swap on my old RS. While I was changing my springs, I found out that a rear strut was blown. I then had to do the install a month later to swap into a set of KYB GR2 struts. To make the install a bit faster, a small socket wrench will help out a lot for the 3 + 3 rear strut top bolts (unless you have a wagon).
Are you guys serious?? I heard is a dangerous job with the springs because you need a compressor?? rite?? PJ
Yang, are you planning to get a set too?? Maybe we can do a install day together or something BTW, Todd is going to quote me on how much will it cost for him to install it for me.... PJ
I saw it on ebay for around that price to. Might plan to get it soon. I plan on getting the set-up done next month. If you want, we can get together but I'm no mechanic. I was looking forward to Todd for support . I have a suspension kit coming in and need some help installing it. Yang
Let me know, maybe we can save on shipping if get the spring together?! I am still waiting for Todd, if he give me a reasonable price I might let him do it....I am not a mech. either PJ
did you already purchase it or planning to? item# 2472535756 is the cheapest I've found for $212.95 plus s/h each. if we purchase two(2), We will be paying $205.45 each for a total of $410.90. How does that sound? still has nine days left before auction ends. Yang
How soon are you planning on getting these? I am going to try and get them before the auction ends. If you do, leave a post or something so I can get two(2) and you can pay me later or something. YIA
Let's go with the pro-kit,Yang...anytime you are ready...what kinda subaru do u have??? I have 98 RS.... I think is easier if you pay for them now, and I will pay you back soon as it arrive? is that cool? WrxSpeed, where is Propulshun?? They don't open on Sat do they??? 180 sounds good to me PJ
Vic ................ I give you $1.80 to put the spring in my car I ask this again, can you really do it yourself?? over at Nasioc, ppl said is dangerous to install spring...u really do need a compressor... people talk to me!!!! PJ
Hey John, I'll get it soon before auction ends but right now I dont have $400. We'll see if I can wrack up $400 in 9 days. If I can't, I gotta get it through you. I have an 00 rs sedan a little different from the pix(it'll be almost like it soon ). I'm gonna borrow the spring compresors from a shop. Do the work next month or so. You got a reply yet about todd? Yia

PJ

John, yes u do need a compress tool to work with the spring. It can be dangerous if you don't do it right... having that spring unwind can be very uncool.
Nope, todd has not gotten back to me yet....i mean i have the money now. Okay, whatever you want ...just let me know Yang, if you going to install that bumper (the pic you have up)I am going steal it!!! kidding Vic....I'll give u 1.90 if you install my spring...but thx PJ
Vic, you haven't changed springs in a GC Impreza before, have you? I didn't need a compressor for mine... just another person to help use their weight to compress the spring just enough to tighten the top strut bolt. That'll save you an hour.
John, I got the kit on but with the ver.6 spoiler . Fong, R u sure about that? Does the person gotta be big or buff? YIA
You guys are all too funny.................E Fong is 100% correct. Save your money and learn to do it yourself or someone else would be happy to take your money from you. The install is not hard, the $180 is a hourly labor shop fee. Whats the worst that can happen after all that info you have recieved here...........rusted strut bolts. IMO Enjoy. Chong
"Do, or do not. There is no try." Yang, you go get the compressor, if there is anything we need I can ask somebody here for it We can do it!!!! let's start on your car first... hahaha PJ
WOOW, This is great, congrat's. John and Yia working on a project together..........Way Cool! : Hey and to make sure it pulls thru, dont forget to hold hands and cross legs JK, yeah let us know if you have anymore questions. Maybe we can come and supervise the Spring Installation Chong
Vic, you stay out of this .....and we are going to charge people who come watch us work!!! } hahahaha..... PJ
Watch out! "MEN AT WORK!" or is it? "NASTYBOYZ" Any Peeping Toms in this forum? Alright that enough of that. Get it done and then you guys can say you installed it yourself and it works great. }
Ok, lets show them what we got john :I. I'll go search for the spring compressor. I'll Notify you guys in about a month about our "secret projects" later because I won't have time to instal these now until my semester is over in about early May. Yia
If you two lovers would like p), I'll even print out a page of the service manual for you guys. It'll include all the parts involved in the swap as well as how tightly you can screw the nuts. LOL! (I couldn't help it.)

No prob. Make sure you use the service manual so you don't strip any bolts or anything. If you guys need me to stop by and take a look at some things, let me know where and when. I'll see if I can make it... how about this Sat at 11am?
Sorry Fong, This is a project that takes time . The works will begin probably next month. I still have to order in the springs . We'll notify you "experts" if we "rookies" need help (which we might). Until then, keep your hopes high
