Montana State University - Bozeman, MT Bachelor of Science in Business - Marketing. Minor in Management of IT. Graduated '05.
I think I should hold the title of "Penultimate Senior", then. Started College - 1994 Will Finish College - Spring 2008
Right now I'm attending the "Lexus College of Excellence" or some BS like that. Pfft. But I went to the U of MN in Duluth for a few years. CS/ECE major.
I goto the U of M in Minneapolis...4th year graduating in the spring Major--Computer Engineering Minor--Business Management
currently at the Miami Ad School, Art Direction program Graduated from Carleton college in 01 with degrees in Art History and Media Studies
I spent 2 yrs at NHCC for my generals. I am not at the U of M twin cities working on my B.S. in Corporate Environmental Management. gonna end up a 5yr student. Zak: how did you like the art history major? I have a friend in that right now. All of us UofM students should meet up sometime and terrorize a parking lot or get free food from carlson...
yeah Zak, i was going to ask the same thing, also wonder what there is career wise when i am all done. lol
Unfortunately the future is bleak. I bet Zak could comment more due to his direct experience there, but my girlfriend has a degree in studio art and she's scrapping her way through the graphic design world (which is brutal). I think she actually does quite well for herself, but she always feels like she's getting screwed considering she has a proper 4 year degree from a proper 4 year school (UofM). I guess it all depends on what your looking for. For instance, ever owning an Sti that is less than 10 years old. She really likes her current job for the most part. It's downtown in a pretty classy building and her co-workers are pretty awesome to hang out with, but in the end, she may have to leave it to make more money (as in, you could probably get paid as much or more picking up phones for wellsfargo mortgage or some other boring ass job). At least this way her job is a little bit more dynamic. Me, Zak and her have talked about this a few times though, so I don't think I'm too far off. He'll chime in if I'm off base though that's for sure.
2 years at Minnesota state U moorhead (in highschool, but full 18 credits college semesters), then 2 years at U. California, San Diego walked onto their basketball team (they suck), 3 more years at MSUM (yay for free school!) then I got kicked out....boo All in all: I have 8 credits to compelte a secondary english ed. degree, about 1 1/2 years to finish a BFA emphasis ceramics, 12 credits and completing studies/getting published to finish Bachelors in psyc. Or about the same to finish a soc. got kicked out for failure to drop a freshman math class.....the appeals process was bunk, then I got married and started breeding Now I am a stay at home dad and wrangle retards on the weekend.
Its a VERY difficult major with little to no real world reward in terms of jobs. However it is immensely helpful if you go into the visual arts, graphic design etc. like I did, but did diddlysquat for me for for the 6 years before now when I was on the job market. I know more about art thatn anyone I meet generally and I get a lot of use for it doing advertising. I love the material, loved the major but it is very hard if you cannot commit a gajillion things to memory. You really do have to have a very large canon of work memorized by period, artist, style, significance and social history.
