but does any store around here do it anyways?

If I do it myself, any recomanded formula's besides Engine Degreaser's? I wanna make it shiny like a new engine after cleaning.

take some time, a rag and some soap...begin scrubbing, don't be a cooch

but I remember a few places in Minneapolis that did it...

if I find the number or place, i'll give it to you

I do the car wash thing every once and a while. What I do is hose it down and wash with soap and a rag like doing the out side of the car. Thats what I found works the best.

I use simple green, brush, and a cloth - works great to make your engine bay look bling. All the guys on RS25 swear by it, and so do I.

Engine Degreaser and a hose. Ask any subie tech. It works just fine. your car doesn't have a distributor, so its not gonna get ruined.

What do you think some of the detailing shops use? ;)

I wrapped plastic bags around electrical stuff like the alternator and taped them up with painter's tape. Spray down Engine Brite on a totally cold engine, let it sit for 15 mins like the instructions say. While you're waiting, scrub really bad areas with a toothbrush soaked in Engine Brite to loosen everything up. Then hose it all down. Towel dry plastic parts (like the air box) and spray it with WD-40, rub down the WD-40 with the same towel--gives the plastic a nice gloss. Then start up the car and go for about a 20 minute drive to get the engine bay all heated up and to evaporate all the water.
