Last night... well the deed was done. I traded in the wagon for an Outback, it was a very hard thing to do. When I pulled up at the dealership the guys all came out to check out my ride. Yep, those days are gone! They gave me a grand more than I owed on it which was nice but it would have been nice to get the cobb tbe and 17" bbs rims accounted for... so it goes. Now I'm rolling in a 08' OBXT. I took a spin in the STI but that little sukker is too small for anything other than fun. Lets all have a moment of silence... :emo:

*correction * soul, not sole as in the bottom of my shoe. @#$@%@$#

Good point. I'm gonna wait until sooby wants to get on top of it and make a decent sized car with wicked power. If only the STI was a liiiiiiiittle bigger. Damit. Apparently I missed an STI Forester they had at the dealership. That would have been a decent compromise.

I agree. It's like I moved up to my 04 wagon's bigger, more refined brother. Does anyone know if there is a map for this thing?

Wait! Is it silver?? I saw one this morning on hwy 62. That outback XT flew right by me, I try to give wave but he were going a little too fast for me. I saw a radar detector in that thing, and it also had a yellow dealer tag on the rear window.

    Either way, great choice!

Don't mean to be a d*ck or anything, but why didn't you just trade someone for their stock exhaust and sell the cobb tbe?

good point, but my HOA is like the gestapo. I jacked my car up so I could get under the front of it for 20 minutes to replace the bulbs for my fogs and I got a sheet stuck to my door the next day that working on your car in the driveway is against HOA regulations. So fuggit. But yes I agree I totally lost my ass on that deal. Between the BBS rims and TBE AND Cobb main pulley AND PnP uppipe AND Cobb Springs.... yeah... kinda sore. I'm looking to get them new 18" STI rims and probly a downpipe.

Do an ecu flash, makes a big difference in the LGT so I would assume it would do the same for the outback xt.

I'm planning on keeping my AP ( see previous posts, me trying to sell it ) and probly getting the cobb DP. Those two things made a WORLD of difference on the WRX. How many miles do I need to put on it before I can say, yep she's broken in. I'm thinking at least 1000 eh?

no no, Cobb has a map for the outback. ~ 280hp I was thinking about adding a down pipe but don't know how the car will react to that. I don't wanna fugg it up, the thing only had 2 miles on it when I bought it.

I wasn't talking about the map, I was talking about the AP itself.

    Different car+different year=different AP

Not really, you need a new AP. The v2 ap's are either a 2.0l or a 2.5l ap, and since you had a 04 wrx, you would have had the 2.0l ap and now you need a 2.5l ap. If you have a v1 ap, those go by the year and make of the car, so again a 04 wrx ap will only work on a 04 wrx. You are crossing platforms so the ecu's are COMPLETELY different.

Yes, everything Russ has said is correct. Your AP will not work with your new car.
