I was in the cars section of craigslist, and in the last 3 or 4 days, I have seen more WRX's and STi's put up for sale than I have in months. I count 8 on there now--posted within about 4 days. The STi's especially are what surprises me... I wonder why so many are bailing on the sweet rides... :eek4:

Somewhat of a worthless thread, but I just thought it was odd, and maybe a lot of those people selling are members on here?

Gas is supposed to be hitting 4 bucks + maybe that has something to do with it?

Yeah, I'm not looking forward to gas skyrocketing this year. And with another premium pumping engine in the works, it's going to start getting mega expensive to have toys.

Crotch rockets...cheap, faster than an STi, and go alot farther on a gallon of gas.

yeah...this was all my hunch...but also what I was afraid of. a true sign that **** is hitting the fan. I was hoping it was because they are upgrading to an 08 STi, or simply buying another newer one or something. I would hate to have to bail on mine, but it might come to that...

Don't run it unless you're tuned for it.

Exactly---so many on there for sale!. I emailed those guys at Luther with the silver wingless to take some new pictures. That thing has been on their lot for months, and every few weeks they put up an ad saying "FRESH TRADE"---obviously not so fresh. :ugh:

^the purpose of the new pics being to help them sell it---as I already own the exact same car pretty much.

ROFL, that "Fresh" trade in has a 'not so fresh' feeling.

Oh, I don't need the pics really, I was just trying to suggest to the dealership that they put up some new ones, that are more clear and also don't have a bunch of snow in the background. might help them move that thing...

I have a nice silver one for sale at a good price too :) Oh, and my reasons for selling are simply that I turnover cars about every 1 1/2 - 2 years (yes, I know financially not the smartest thing ever). It's just something I do. I thought I'd stay in the STi for a long time because my wife didn't really want me buying and selling cars anymore. So, I just decided that I'd get rid of that roadblock...so, possibly no more wife, and me reinstating my car turnover rate. Sorry, not funny to make fun of divorce or separation...but it's what I do in this situation :)

I usually sell my cars after about 2 years also. I just get bored and want to try something new. granted..I have never owned an STi until now, so the pattern could change. I could see myself driving the new legacy 2.5gt spec B though... nice ride.
