Just started to notice it. When i go over small repeated bumps, i can hear and kinda feel something shake under my car. I am suspecting sway-bar links. And this noise comes from the front of the car. What are the ways to check if the sway-bar links need to be changed?
Are you turning kinda sharp when this happens? Sometimes the steering linkage makes some noise under the right conditions, usually turning/accelerating from a stop sign over bumps. I had an old legacy that was really bad, and my current car will do it from time to time.
are your wheels on tight? i have known somepeople that did not re-torque their lug nuts after having the wheels off, and it ended poorly. Also you can get some noises from under the car from bushings or suspension parts that are worn out. such as tie rod ends ect...
the wheels are on tight i checked. It makes a noise when the wheels are streering wheels is streight. I guess it could be swaybar links or tie rods?
Tight? Incorrect answer. Aluminum wheels should be torqued to 75-90 ft. lbs. Check for your car/wheel combo to be sure. Too tight can cause warping and bad things.
I really doubt everyone uses a torque wrench to bolt their wheel. I bolt the wheels criss-cross and make sure their are evenly tightened.
Looked under the car today and didn't find any parts being loose. So I really dont know what could that rattleing be comming from. I noticed that it usualy is there wjlehn i go over bumps with just one wheel.
I am pretty sure i did not cause any damage. I always put my wheels without a torque wrench. Never seen anyone do it anywhere as well. At least in Russia i have never seen anyone torque down wheels.
