I installed mine last weekend, beware- the fit up is crap. I had to enlarge a few of the holes on mine to get them to fit. Also- you can get them cheaper than that. As for the original question- they make a difference in handling, more of a difference when you go to stiffer springs and stickier tires. Chassis flex is evil.
I don't quite like the design of those, but if they work...great! THey will help with front flex when you take a corner hard. The weight pushes UP on the strut tower and it flexes some. For our GC chassis and old skool, it should help a lot. I haven't installed mine yet so I don't know. I have these sitting in the tool chest not installed yet.
Good to know. From the pics they are about the beefiest set I've seen thus far. I might end up making my own, since its not a big deal. With my coilovers I'm definately in need of something. That and a V-brace in the trunk. The sprung weight of the car is actually pushing down due to the friction of the tires and the resulting centripetal acceleration. The reaction(normal) force from the spring pushes back through the strut tower and the rest of that structure, therefore the junction of that unitbody rail to the A-pillar is what flexes. At least thats if I'm recalling my statics and dynamics correctly
they work or will work because i had a maxima (obviously) and alot of people put subframe connectors under there cars and felt a world of difference.
i dont know about the ones posted in the OP link, they dont look much better then stock they look to thin almost 2 dimensional, where as the other that are posted look much beefer and more 3 dimensional
