I want to get a set of the winterforce tires for my '07 2.5i. The stock size is 205/55R16. The winterforce tires come in 205/60R16, not my 55's. Would these work? Anything negative about going to this size? I have a set of Rotas for summer, so this would just be for winter (lots of miles, though, for me) and rallyx.

    Thank you for the help!

It would throw the speedo off by a little bit, but I think you'd be alright.

They'll be fine. They'll be about 0.8" taller in diameter, so it'll raise the car a lillte less than 1/2" and the speedo will be off by about 2mph at 60 (you'll read 60, your speed will be 62).

Tire Rack doesn't carry 'em in the 205/55 size anymore...and the local firestone shop I called said they don't make 'em in that size anymore either....That's why I'm going w/the 205/60's. Let me know if i'm incorrectly informed.

If I understand, it's not that they don't make them, it's that they sold out on the 205/55/16 size nationwide.

That is what I was told by the Tire rack and Firestone.

Yep...sold out. I mounted the 205/60s on today. Looks good - i think. I'll post up some pics soon. They definitely fill up the wheel wells a little more and look pretty tough. I wanna go offroading....

I checked out the RallyCross school site yesterday with my Winterforces. They're going to be a very good tire for the conditions. :)

You'll find that they're great when it's snowy like this, and not so great (but still better than no-seasons) when the roads get clearer, but icy.

^^^^yep...I've noticed. They're not great on ice, but better than the no-seasons. I absolutely LOVE them in snow, though. I haven't yet been to any parking lots or off-roading yet, but I'm looking forward to it!
