Wireless Router Help

    Ok, my **** keeps switching to a neighbors router randomly and i cant find my network anymore. it sucks. how do i set it so it wont detect anything but mines? i dont want to connect to stupid 2mb neighbor service when my **** is uber fast.

    change your ssid to something other than linksys first off.

    then delete them in windows xp from preffered wireless networks.

    What steve-o said. Also you might want to add mac address filtering, or a network key WEP or any other form so people are not sucking down on your network.

    But from your post it sounds like the problem is you seeing other networks. For that i would like to know what router and card you are using. Some applications that come with the card let you setup profiles and if you do what Grimm said then you can setup a profile at the Laptop/pc end and select that profile. This way everytime you turn on your computer you will have your profile selected.

    Sorry for giving a detailed explanation, i am not familiar with your knowledge and also i work in Support.. :(
