This was photo shopped for me but I was wanting to get some opinions. These are my all time fav rims. I'm just not to sure how they look on a wrx. They look like sex on a 240 but when I look at the pic it just doesn't look right for some reason. It seems to me like the wrx needs a wheel that looks like the torques or xd9's. What you guys think??

You'll never get lip fitment like that on a Subaru.

LOL. To me those look like something Chip Foose would design.

    That's not a good thing.

If you are going for the 5 spoke 3 piece look, look at a set of Meisters. And yeah, all that polish makes them look like Foose wheels.

I would say they look more like American Racing torque thrust's.. not a fan on that car.

yea im starting to agree... they dont look to good on a wrx.. on a 240 they look amazing! For the meisters id never be able to find a set for under $1500 lol. i just cant decide between the 5 spoke look or the 6,7,8 spoke.oh well my quest continues lol

Yeah, no go for me on the vs-kf's too. Some 5-spokes work (5zigen fn01r-c, OZ chrono ht, enkei rp03).

If you're stuck on Work wheels and trying to keep it around 1500, the split-5 CR Kai's are easy to come by. Subaru friendly offsets and you can usually find deals on them too.

Keep an eye on the nasioc one day sales forum. Also tirerack clearance (when they have a few sets left of a wheel in a particular size) can save you 25-50%. I used to wait for those sales and buy 5 for less than what 4 usually go for.

Speaking of baller wheels like readymix's, the tirerack catalog came the other day...

gf: oooh, is that the new wheel catalog?
me: maybe :hsugh:... I just bought you wheels last Spring
gf: they can be my winters...
    me: lolwut?!
gf: I like those! [points at flat black HRE p40s]
    me: those are like $1300
    gf: that's not bad
    me: :unamused: per wheel
    gf: lolwut?!

Good luck with that. The problem with the WRX is that wheel fitments have to fall into a pretty defined set of specs. The bolt pattern is 5x100, which alot of wheels already come in. The problem is the offset. Ignoring the whole "OMG wheel bearings!" talking points that you hear, the hub placement is pushed out quite a ways compared to most of your FWD 5x100 hub cars. As such, those low offset wheels, if they even clear the brake calipers, are going to protrude from the car a great deal more than they would on say, a VW Jetta. The "solution" that some use is to roll their fenders and run improperly sized tires, which aside from looking absolutely ****tarded, it also renders the whole point of running a wider wheel pointless when you have stretched tiny tires onto a fat wheel.

Your best bet is to go with something that isn't as well represented locally. There are a few Rota wheels that I haven't seen locally on Subarus. There are a number of selections from the more premium brands like Volk/Rays and what not that I haven't seen. Then there is always the option of filling out the forms and having Work, Kodiak or some other custom wheel maker cut you a set of 3 piece wheels with the specs you require.
