I have an 07 style aux port that I bought from Morries when I was putting a 07 Headunit in my car, I ended up using a different aux connection and had already thrown the packaging away for this piece. So I have been trying to sell the AUX port for a while. I sent pictures to a person on NASIOC and this was his response.

if you can guarantee it by being willing to offer a refund if it doesn't work/is defective then it's a deal and send me your paypal address.

The deal was for 35 shipped to his door, I can't see how there could be anything wrong with the port?

That is a bit unusual. But sometimes parts from the dealer are defective and if you throw away the packaging, then you can't return it and you're SOL. On the other hand, it is unlikely that the part is defective.

I wouldn't think much about it if the part was worth more, but between what I originally paid for it and the shipping I am losing maybe half of the part price. If this guy decides that the part didn't work (maybe that means he doesn't have the extension cable), I could end up with less than nothing. (I am figuring between 5 and 9 dollars for shipping).

paying 35 shipped for this I personally could fix it, the function of the part is really just 2 connectors.

I dunno, could be someone who's been burned in the past and is worried, someone who just isn't used to dealing online and is simply scared of the idea, or (and I think this is the least likely), someone looking to set you up to basically screw you over.

Speaking of dealing online, did the Kartboy brackets arrive today?

If it's ryan pietro, do not trust it. That's all the advice I have to give. That guy does the whole "I'll keep your working one and trade you one that doesn't work" thing ... and then doesn't follow through.

A lot of times I will mark the part (in a hidden place) that I'm shipping out, so if it comes back I'll know if it was the original. Pics help with that too. Just a little scuff somewhere that you can't normally see is enough.

I did't sell the part to the guy and I a, glad that I didn't based on his response, I thought 35 shipped was a fair price?

it's not like this part is exceptionally rare. these are a dime-a-dozen and you were lucky that i was going to pay you $35 for it. You are complaining about losing money but you just passed up a deal where you would get $35 but now you will get nothing. And if you aren't confident that the part you are selling will work 100% you shouldn't be trying to sell it so yes everyone would be better off if you just throw the part away

    ^ wow nice.

I think most guys don't realize the port doesn't come with the cable, and the cable is pretty much unobtainable.

So yeah he probably would have decided it didn't "work" because there was no cable.

Exactly that. Like his giving you 35 dollars in exchange for a good or service is some kind of special favor he's doing for you. Screw that guy.

Thanks for explaining the result of deciding not to sell. I was wondering how that works.
