This is a wheel from a 2002 WRX. The air bag is not popped so the center is unbroken. However, the air bag driver (explosive parts) were removed as this was in a rally car for a short period of time. To be clear, this does NOT have a working air bag.

Mark, once the wheel is clean, what sort of condition is it in? also, my 01 air bag should switch right over just fine right? If its in good shape and I can use my air bag, I will take it.....dibs!

It won't work, I actually compared Jerry's (jyo) airbag to a spare MOMO rim that I have. the mounts arent even close and the bags are different shapes. IIRC, the airbag connectors are different too.

I am sure it is in good shape once cleaned. It has just been in my barn for 4 years and is dusty and such.

I have no idea if your 01 air bag will fit or work. I can see if the center section from the WRX wheel will fit in the 96 wheel I am selling. However, all that will tell us is if things line up, not if the bag and wheel are meant to be used together. Best thing would be for you to come up and look at the wheel compared to the 96 wheel I have and see for yourself.

I do not recommend removing an active airbag unless you are trained and have the proper tools. Remember, and air bag is just a slightly controlled bomb.

That bomb can save your life, however. I am convinced I am still here due to a proper restraint system that included an air bag in a 2002 WRX.

    Sorry for the aside,

The connectors are separate from the wheel so that is not an issue. What year bag were you looking at and what year wheel?

    Thanks,

The wheel was a spare off my 02 WRX, the airbag was from a 99 or 00 RS. The airbag sizes and shapes were completely different, to the point where mounting it wasn't even close.
