well, my older brother just got a wrx, an STi mimic, everything STi with upgraded turbo and everything in the car is an STi except for the body (pushing 294hp on the dyno sheet). so all 3 of us has wrx's. older one's got the mimic sti, middle was has the stage 4 silver one, and mine the stock aspen white.

If I were your father, I'd be so proud! Way to stay loyal to the brand. If I ever decide to have kids, they'll all be driving Subarus too. :)

One more thing. The guy in question seemed like a very nice, straight up guy to me. I do not know the status of these charges, what was proven/disproven etc. I will try to get some more up to date details for you from my friend at the PD.

****, well this person must been a good talker or something. it was listed on ebay and when my brother bought it was an "girl" owner..maybe a 2nd owner or a cover up?? but everything in that car is STi from top to bottom. yup, intercooler spray, automatic fan, carbon fiber 3 gauges by ashtray..STi gauge pod with 6 DELPHI gauges..greddy EBC...the whole works. well, its cool that he got all that stuff for pretty cheap but wow...stole an sti off the lot? was this in rochester cuz it had texas plates but car was in rochester..04 texas plates to be exact.

No doubt it is the same car, had TX plates on it when I saw it too. Dyno plots were all from somewhere in Texas as well.

He told me he was trying to sell it, said he was getting a good deal on an already built Infinity G35 coupe. I don't know what to believe about the history of that car, but no question that it is the same car. The switch for the fan under the intercooler is to the left of the steering column, longer silver toggle switch - right?

No worries, I am sure all is legit and legal at this point. Great car, easily worth 30K considering all the work on it. I know other people around here who claim to have seen him run mid 12 second quarter miles over and over in that car. When we were discussing moding my car I let him drive it - no question he is a good driver.
