I have a buddy with a 2002 Outback Sport, 5spd. He lives in Colorado and uses this car for his courier job, which means he now has 455K on the motor! :eek3: The car is still rock solid, but that motor can’t last forever. He’s starting to look for a 2.0 wrx swap. Has anyone doe this with an outback sport? Any special considerations or concerns with this project? Can someone run down what he would need? Motor, tranny, driveshaft, axles, harness? Or could he just use his existing tranny? and where is the best source for motors, etc....
Ive seen a few people do this on NASIOC, but using STi bits and parts. Ide search around over there. Great idea BTW, my dream winter beater car!
imo...i would just replace it with a freshend up 2.5 for that type of job, i dont forsee a wrx motor lasting another elevendee million miles
^^^I would agree and I told him the same. He doesn't need another 500K out of the car, he has another car he will use for the job, this one won't see too much action/miles
