Hi Guys- It's Brett from Morrie's Brooklyn Park Subaru. I have an engine block and transmission that I would like to tear apart and see what is inside. We can do this some night at the dealership and make it a club meeting if you guys want. The block is a 2.5 DOHC from an Outback, but the internals are almost identical to the other Subaru Boxer motors. Have you ever seen how thin the crank is between the journals? Now is your chance! Want to see what happens when a bearing fails in the transmission? Lot's of metal shavings in the case. It would have to happen between 6-9pm durning a week night or between 4-6pm on Saturday, or we can do it somewhere other than the dealership. I might even be able to come up with some giveaways for you guys. Let me know! Brett Corneliusen Parts Specialist Morries Brooklyn Park Subaru (763) 582-7462
Sounds cool, when you say Saturday do you mean tomorrow or next Saturday? I would definately be there if it's tomorrow. -Chris
Brett Corneliusen, Thats sounds awsome, I'd much appreciate having that opportunity. my schedule works best on Friday or weekends. Thanks, Chong
Sounds awesome. You are never going to get all of us to agree on a day/date or a place, so schedule it and we'll try to be there.

can't miss out on this oppertunity. i'm good 7days a week from any hours to any hours. name the time and date and i'll be there.
Ya, pretty much just set a date and let everyone else figure out how to make it. I learned that the hard way trying to set up the prokart events. I am in, anytime anyplace. Russ
I would be there for sure, i just got done talking to one of the parts guys there, not sure if it was you or not, but man, you guys are super nice at this subaru. Post a date and time, and i will try my best to make it!
wow. sounds great, I'd be up for meeting... don't usually get to any of the other events, but I could make this.
I think Brett just needs to set a date and time. I already had a chance to see the parts, and the motor has some cool things on it. I can't wait, Brett just needs to set a date. Russ
Not this weekend please oct 1-3. I have a freind from Spain that will be here, and I realy want to make it to this. edit: - just bumping this one back up to try and keep it alive
I spoke with Brett on my visit to Morries BP Subaru this morning and he said that it will be held after hours and in the cold season again. People tend to limit thier activities in the winter, so they can make it easier to attend the meet.

Yeah.. just let me know.. I live not too far from there.. maybe we could hitch on over to A-bee's aftwards for a beer or two.. ! Name the date I'll be there. I get off work at 6pm weekdays.
I'd be very interested in seeing this, since I'm getting ready to eventually have to replace the gearset with RA or something stronger.
Guys- I know I started this topic a while (months) ago, and now that most guys are storing there summer cars and looking for something to do until spring, it looks like this event is actually going to happen! I have been putting it off for a while to let you guys finish your cruizing, and now it's time to get things going with this. I will be picking a date in January, just to make sure everyone has it on the schedule. Give me about a week to get it sorted with my work on a time and date and I will post back. The original WRX transmission I had was donated to a guy with a rallycar that was looking at trying to get some different gear ratios for his Legacy Turbo. I still have the block and a GC8 Impreza RS transmission to rip into. STAY TUNED

I love taking stuff apart and not having to worry about putting it back together
