Welcome! Good luck with your purchase. If you can't find a set, it'll be a good idea to tint the outer lens of the taillights or get into the housing and spray pait it black. HOT!

I was in the same boat... You probably already know, but fyi in case you dont know and can't find a seller...
    1) You can buy new from subarugenuineparts.com or any other oem parts dealer - I found prices ranging from $120-250 per light.
    2) You can buy used at local junkyards - About $2-300 per pair.
    3) Trade on here or nasioc.com - some people are willing to pay overnight shipping for both yours and theirs.
    4) As mentioned get the rockblocker.com or hot-subaru (subaru of dallas) taillight protective film - $50 and they can cut whatever color (including red).
    5) Get the rockblocker half-tail tinits - $25. This is my temp solution and I think it looks great on black but a little awkward on red and blue.
Good luck with the purchase and enjoy yr new car!

I'll swap with ya...if you like...I have an 04 WRX. I plan on tint/smoking it, so it wouldn't matter to me which tail light I have....Mine + $50 and for your set. I'm assuming they will fit exactly with each other.

Or you can support two dealerships who have offered a discount to the MN Subaru club which usually ends up being cheaper than the websites, especially since we don't charge for freight. Check the Vendors for sale forum, me and Brian (driftin240) at Minnetonka both have threads started so if you need parts pricing or have a question on a part we can get that taken care of for you. Good luck!

Just in case you were wondering on new lights, the part numbers are 84921FE901 and 84921FE911 and your price per light would be 131.48 + tax.

Yeah, that too. Mah bad Brian.

Sogonerg, I think it is direct swap for sedans (some wiring modification for wagons)

I want to make sure it is first before I swap for the 06...The tail light looks the same shape-wise. But I'm just worried about the bolt pattern and assembly. Until I know 100% it is compatible without re-wiring anything, I'd help out Nuke on this matter.

Nuke, we should get together sometime and pull the tail light out and see if it is a match, as far as bolting it on.

Im sure it will fit. The 02 light would fit but the dip in your cover for the circle thingys would look funny.

I'm currently on WRxfanatics.com as well trying to figure out the tail light situation. There is a guy installing one this Sunday. So I will wait to see how it turns out....I'm not back at work until Mon. next week anyways...Hopefully you can hold just for one more weekend =)
