Like the title says, I need one. My mounts for my steering rack broke so I think it be cheaper if I just swap the whole crossmember out instead of taking it to the shop to get it custom welded on there. Let me know what you guys have or if you can point me to the right direction with this. Anything would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have a crossmember from a 2002 WRX, I don't know if it's any different from the 05-07 crossmember. . . I don't think it would work with an STI steering rack, but maybe for the WRX from 05-07.

I'm just curious, how do you break one of these?

Likely one of the studs broke, they are welded on from the back side, often they break when they get corroded, and you are trying to loosen them.

Idk how i broke it either. I took it in for an alignment and the bushing was sucked into the mount of the rack. Originally we thought it was just a bad bushing so I order a new one and went to install it. It would not budge out at all and was moving around like it was broken. I dropped the rack and come to be, the bracket was cracked adn the weld nut was moving freely. This would explain why my alignment was off.

    And yea, they are steel....

I just bought a 05+ STI cross from a guy in Texas, 110 shipped to my door, it looks dirty but in decent shape. from what I can see on this crossmember it would be a SOB to weld any of those nuts if they came loose! even with the cross out I think that it would require cutting "windows" in the back of the crossmember to weld the nuts. it almost seems like the most expedient course would be to drill all the way through and put a regular non-weled nut on the top of the cross. can you take pictures of the break?

Im out of town but to take the pictures, it would be too much of a hassle. At this point I am thinking about just getting a new crossmember to put in there. It would prob be easier and save me more $ in the long run. Did you just buy off of nasioc or where did you get yours at?
