Bad news: Pretty sure my stock TMIC -> TB hose is lunched. I've reseated my TMIC over five times today and that thing is NOT staying on.

Good news: Looks like the last gen LGT hose works fine. I just have to turn it around.

Anyone having such a thing laying around?

Does it still have those rubber caps on both ends? Take them off and throw them away.

Clamp it down and it should be fine. On my 2011 my stock one held 30-32psi without any issues.

Yeah, I pulled the little coupler things off a long time ago. They fold over at anything over stock boost.

Lots of people have had problems with this hose even in stock form in the 5th gen LGT. Just about everyone has problems with it when they start turning up the boost. I consider myself a TB hose ninja at this point but I cannot get it to stay seated this time.

You can have my stock one (2011 wrx) this weekend. I need it until then.

Definitely looks very similar or the same as the 3G WRX hose. Here's a photo of yours:

Is yours damaged? How do you think the new one will help?

Maybe just clean/dry it and then use hairspray?

This hose has been test fitted by the guy who fabbed my TMIC. Not surprisingly based on the TMIC orientation, the hose has to be flipped around. It fits though:

I think mine has been clamped down and pulled off one too many times. Well, more like 8 too many times after yesterday. It's pretty chewed up particularly on the TB end. I haven't tried hairspray. I did at least clean off the hose and inlet/outlet.

Suggestions on best cleaning product/hairspray? I am getting a little blow by with the new build (forged pistons). Could be I've got a bit of oil on there I've never had to deal with before and this is what happens.

Rad, I might take you up on that. I can get along just fine after reseating it but I have to stay out of any real boost. Price?

Pete WTF do you do to this car? Everything blows up! How do you F'up that TB hose. It is pretty solid. Mine has been off my car easily 50+ times and is still in working order.

    1. Hairspray helps! I used this on my POS TMIC and TB issues
    2. Clamp down the TB hose, then tighten down your TMIC to the Turbo (side)

Yeah, if it's chewed up then it's no good, but that hose should be plenty strong to hold up. A switch to T-bolt clamps will reduce clamp damage. Mine was also on/off dozens of times and never had issues.

Use gas to clean off the oil. Then any old hair spray will work. It will act like a lube while it's wet, but then it dries and functions as an adhesive. As long as it's seated properly it should be able to be clamped down really hard and never move.

Agreed. If it is chewed up you are setting yourself up for a bad seal/leak issues/TB hose popping off.

No charge man. As long as I can get the replacement one Perrin is sending me to work (with boost tube adjustments) it's yours.
