i am actually interested in an rs because insurance is to high if it is a wrx, i have seen rs with sti motors or just turboed rs's and they seem pretty nice. akso how hard is it to swap a sti motor into an rs? would it be better to build and turbo the rs motor? i am kind of new to subarus so i need some suggestions!!!! first off i need a car so let me know if you have one for sale thanks everybody
Have you check Craigs List, I just saw a few RS's for sale recently. As for swapping the motor it's not too hard but you'll need to do a few research on the forum here. For WRX's you'll need to shell out at least $8,000 to $10,000 for a decent one. I hope this helps.
yeah its not a walk in the park...but its nothing that can't be done either. search around on here, RS25.com and Nasioc and get a feel for what you really want to do.
i dont suggest turboing the 2.5 n/a. they have a high compression (9.7:1) the transmissions are kind of weak and the heads cant really take all that added pressure/power. there are a few guys that have done 2.2t's and 2.5t's you could talk to them but if you cant get a good used turbo kit specificly for or an rs or a gt for under $500 i wouldnt waste the money. plus if you did get a turbo kit for the 2.5 motors you could only run 5-10lbs max
