WTB 2.5 5 speed tranny

    alright i have a ej25 short block waiting to get dropped in my gfs 97 impreza but need a tranny that will bolt up to it. so show me what you got.

    any tranny that comes with a ej series engine should bolt up to the ej25 shortblock. (basically almost any tranny will do) the on that came in ur gf's 97 impreza will work unless you what one in particular.

    u will need a matching rear diff... either 3.9 or 4.111

    the bellhousing bolts are different, the 2.5 block we have wont bolt up to the tranny in the car

    Some older EJ motors had a 4 bolt tranny. But it will still bolt up.

    they will bolt on..you just have becareful of the alignment pins...those can get in the way...but how much you planning on spending...i might have one for you...might...

    heehehehe....umm.... I have '00 RS tranny on '99 Impreza engine, and also 91 Impreza engine. Had a 93 tranny on a '99 engine.

    If your shortblock is a 96-98 then you'll be fine. If your shortblock is a 99-current....you will not use all bolts for that engine because your tranny only has so many bolts.

    Your GF's car is a '97, it has 2 bolts up top, and 2 nuts on bottem w/ alignment pins in the middle. If the 2.5L shortblock is a NEWER one, you'll just not be using the 4 thread holes that's above and below the alignment pins.
