looking for one that is super cheap. Like $2500 cheap. looking for the turbo model.. the condition can reflect the price i would just like it to aleast run and drive. The body can look like the hulk gave it an upper cut, not worried about how it looks as ill take care of that at later point. I just really want to get back into a subaru and mod the crap out of it if its possible to get one at that price shoot me some info.
Ummm... $2500 will either get you a shell or the engine/trans/rest of the drive train.. You are best off to do some digging in here http://www.rs25.com/ Good luck
i know its a hard find, but im not in any rush. Id figure id throw the thread out there in case someone has something they want to get rid of. Id also take something that doesnt run but is a "cheap" fix that i could get it running. If nothing comes up the cash will keep growing into a down payment for a new sti in 2014.
nope lol, i just wikied to find out what years they were offered and the first thing that popped up was gc8 and the years so i just put that. i thought the gc8 was just the body style of the car like the GD and such. 2.5rs with turbo is what im looking for. The 2 sites i was trying to get to wouldnt load at work so i worked with what i had at the moment.. that wiki page had a ton of information and i didnt want to read it all. I thought id put gc8 and everyone would know what i was talking about. My mistake, sorry. Looking for a 2.5rs
LOL. Sigh. "GC8" is well understood. The Impreza model, before 2002, was not offered with a turbo in the United States.
The 2.5RS was never sold with a turbo. So, you want to mod the crap out of a car you obviously know nothing about and you can't be bothered to read even a wiki page?
yea i have now read that and understand that if it has a turbo.. someone put one on. So, what im looking for is one with a turbo that someone put on lol or any pre 2002 2.5rs. My heart was always set on the 04+ wrx and never really looked at the specs for anything pre 2002. I figured hood scoop = turbo with subaru(factory). It helps to read fyi.. it wont make yourself look stupid because you dont know what your talking about. <-- statement was towards myself lol. sorry for the epic amounts of fail in the first thread. I appologize again. You all can throw water balloons at me on the lax cruise lol.
When i start modding i would actually read through everything so i know what i was doing. I'm not going to start throwing crap on and hope it works. I just wanted the car to drive beacuse i miss the 5 speed, subaru community and just want a subaru again.
Ok, lol. You redeemed yourself. What you'll be looking for will likely be a GC8 chassis in which someone swapped in a WRX motor. The N/A ej25 is not terribly friendly to FI.

As mentioned, start here: http://www.rs25.com/forums/f171-fs-cars-sale then adjust your expectations accordingly. With your budget I would suggest looking at non RS imprezas (2.2 or 1.8) and think about turbo charging or motor swapping those. imho, the sunroof and cosmetic upgrades you get from going to the 2.5RS model aren't worth it in your case (not keeping it stock motor).
