Hi, I'm looking for either 225/45/17 or 235/45/17 Snow tires. Lmk what you have with price. You can also reach me @ 952-465-9960 Thanks.
Sunfull tires...aren't those cheap chinese garbage? The only things I can find about them is people saying not to buy them. If you are going to get a budget snow tire at least get something proven like a general Altimax arctic.
I know Justin from Vision Speedworks. He wouldn't sell "cheap chinese garbage" and is running these on his personal vehicle. If I were to trust anyone's opinion on tires it would be him. He spends a lot of time researching his products before deciding to sell them. I would suggest looking at something a little narrower, maybe in the 215/55/17 range, A wider tire may tend to float when on softpack snow.
Wouldn't my speedo be off with those being a taller tire? Also, I wonder if handling would be negatively affected?
I just checked my 3 major suppliers. I show nothing left in that size for snows. Look online and get some shipped to your house. you can usually get them very cheap.
Just in case others are wondering, I asked Justin from Vision Speedworks about them, and this is what he said - caveat emptor etc:
Thanks for the follow up! They might not be garbage afterall but they are still close enough in price to the generals that I personally wouldn't want to be a guinea pig. Not everything from China is garbage but you definitely have to be careful. The tread design might be good (who knows maybe an exact copy of more expensive tires like the generals) but who knows if the rubber compound is good, how long will they last? Also I have heard of cheap chinese tires breaking belts and bulging and whatnot because of potholes or just normal use. Not saying Vision Speedworks is scamming or anything, just that I am skeptical of a cheap tire unless proven.
Yeah that's my guess too Nhibbs, it's pretty easy to copy a tread design but a good compound is more difficult and expensive. They might be "good enough" though, and probably better than most all-seasons. It's always good to know about more affordable options, maybe we'll hear in the spring from some folks that have tried them
