The tranny went on my impreza. preferably i would like a manual AWD transmission off of an EJ18, but i dont really care if its off of an EJ22 or EJ25.

I just need a 5 speed AWD trans.

    Thanks,
    Tommy

you WILL care, because the rear ends have different ratios.

Go to upullrparts in rosemount, I was there 2 days ago pulling a 5 speed AWD trans and there is at least 2 left out there. one from a legacy and I believe one for a 1.8 impreza. you cant beat the price of about 95.00, and when you do it yourself at a junkyard, you learn how to do it and if you break stuff you learn what not to do on your car.

also, I ran a 1.8 trans with my 3.90 rearend and everything was fine, call a subie dealer and have them run the trans number on the bellhousing, this should tell you the axle ratio.

    good luck!

yeah i know the drive gear ratio's have to match, or things will break. My car has a 1.8l rear diff in it, but i can get a hold of both a 2.2 and a 2.5 diff for next to nothing from a friend.

ive done quite a few tranny swaps in imprezas, not to mention clutches and engines, so it shouldnt be a problem as far as being able to do it. this will be the third tranny ive put into my impreza.

$95 at u pull r parts is pretty good, other than having to drag a bunch of tools out with me.

    thanks guys
