Hi, I just sold my 95 subaru legacy wagon for cheap and I'm searching for another awesome Subaru wagon. WANT TO BUY: Any subaru Wagon that has side airbags for under $7000. It needs to have side airbags for the front passengers, Preferably an outback would be great. Roof racks are a plus. A 2003 or 2004 subaru outback limited model would be ideal. The bolt pattern 5x100 for the wheels would be good so I can interchange wheels and rims. Demong
It'll be really difficult to find one with low miles at your asking price. If you haven't checked out cars on craigslist already, you should probably check out nearby cities to see what they have to offer. If all else fails and if you don't mind flying out to pick up the car, look for one on ebay. But only buy from reputable dealers.
Subarus are great because they are built to last except the earlier phase 1 2.5 NA motors. High mileage subies are fine.
Unless they made a running change in that generation, I don't think the '03 or '04 Outback have side airbags. Our '02 Outback doesn't while our '05 Legacy does.
The 2003 "LIMITED" and 2004 "LIMITED" models had side airbags on the leather seats. Its standard on all 2005 and up Outbacks The 2003 forester xs has side airbags. I'm assuming all models of the 2004 forester and up have standard side airbags
