Hello all! My wife and I moved here with our baby one week ago and have been desperately scouring the online ads (Craigslist, etc.) for an Impreza wagon, Legacy Wagon or Sedan, or Forester MY'05 or newer with under 75k miles on it for around $10k. So far we have come up with very few potential cars to buy and we are out of time! We need a car ASAP. Our rental is due tomorrow and we really dont want to have to pay for extra days. Its likely that if we cant find a Subaru soon we will have to resort to some domestic crossover SUV (and we cant let that happen!). Please help! I will obviously be looking myself, but if you or anyone you know has a car similar to this that is for sale please let me know!
that car with that few of miles for that amount is a TALL order. I just bought an 05 legacy 2.5 with 100k listed at 10k which is what kbb was. good luck with the search, but you may want to be willing to get one with higher miles. You moved to an area where there are lots of great mechanics that like to help and do work on the cheap on the side. Plus if you become a mnsoc member you get a discount on labor and parts at the minnetonka subaru dealership. You could get a dealer on your side and talk to scott putnum at morries minnetonka subaru or mark frost at burnsville subaru as well to let them use there dealer connections.

Tell me about it! Its been a real trial to find anything even remotely close to what my "very specific" criteria are. Unfortunately in order to finance anything with my CU the car must be exactly that, otherwise my APR jumps almost 4 pts. And I cant get a loan through a dealer or other bank due to my outstanding student loans... Id be willing to go a little over $11k, but obviously I want to keep it as low as possible.
