Well, the dowel pin in my intake cam broke into three pieces, leaving one buried inside the AVCS cam gear on the passenger side. Looking to buy just that cam gear from somebody, hopefully cheap. I'll be trying to remove the piece for the time being.
For an OEM part, I feel the dealer price on these is very fair (<$150). I'd be worried about a used one that I didn't know the complete history of as they are affected by oil quality, wear, and install/removal damage.
That's probably true. I really just need the center 'core', as the hardened steel dowel from my cam broke off inside it, so I could swap it over to my own pulley and check for cleanliness at the same time. I'll try Yusef, thanks!
