Alright guys, well I want to pick up a motorcycle. I've got $3500 to spend, but would like to spend less...obviously.

If someone's got a suzuki sv650, any year, with decent miles, I want it, lets talk.

For anybody else with a bike looking to sell, heres what I'm looking for.
    No harleys, just sport bikes.
I like naked bikes, but could settle for a crotch rocket if the deal was right.

I'm shooting for 600-650cc's. Any bigger and I'll kill myself with power, any smaller and I'll kill myself, for outgrowing the bike in a year.

I really wont give a whole lot of other "requirements" since theres probably not going to be a ton of people selling anyways. Just PM me if you've got a deal, and we can talk!

yeah I looked on craigslist. which sv's are you seeing? I might be missing a few since I narrowed my search on there.

I'd like to deal with someone through mnsoob, it would be nice. Thanks for the response mplsrex!

eh, I'd have to see pictures of the paint job. I'm in love with the SV's, which I know I can get for $3500 no problem, so theres not much of a chance of me being drawn out of my price range on something that isnt my dream bike.

But thanks for the help matt! Keep me posted on anything else you find!

Your on the right track with the Sv Best bike in that price range in my opinion. I'd sell you my 02 if I was in a position to upgrade bikes but unfortunately I'm not right now.

My wife has an 03 SV650S, the copper/orange color. Very low miles, like 3000 or so. But I don't think she wants to sell it. I might think of selling mine, but would want more like $5500. I have a 00 Ducati 900SS red, with a bunch of CF pieces, fenders, clutch cover, high mount CF exhaust, etc...

Keep an eye out on mnsbr.com. There's always bikes for sale there and we have a few vendors on the fourm that sell used bikes and always have inventory.

the SV650s is not a naked bike though? and like 3rik said torquey bike but not much above 75.

maybe consider an sv1000 you have to understand a twin 1000 will not even be like a 4cyl 600.

maybe consider that honda 600 hornet or whatever they call it! 600 4cyl and its naked, and flat black ftw!!!

I saw a beautiful black SV1000 for around $4200 and well maintained. Not sure if it's still for sale, but I found it on Craigslist about a week ago.

^yes thats what the "midnight" trim is black with red accents, and red pinstripe on the rims.

No top end? really with a 1670cc v twin? 102cubic inch?

Edit, the first thing i would change is the exhaust.

I see no reason in having more than 75hp on a bike that weighs in at 350 lbs. I want an SV, and the 1000cc version is just plain too much. This will be a good bike for me to have for a few years, and then I'll probably just upgrade to an R6, or if I'm feeling like I've got cash to blow, a yzf.

The SV650 s's have a front windsheild, etc, but there are fairing deletes you can buy fairly cheap, so that it is semi naked. I'd like to have something to deflect the wind for road trips, and also, I just plain like the styling of the S. However, I dont like the styling on the 02 S's...its just fugly and I cant believe suzuki thinks its attractive.

I found an 03 silver SV650 s with 2,800 miles. Its silver, and apparently has no problems. Guy wants 4k for it, so I'll probably be doing a deal once I get back from my vacation to florida on thursday. WOOT.

If not, then I'm back on the look out, but we'll see. If people want to keep tossing bikes for sale up here, that would be GREAT. Thanks!

Oh and erik, you're very right. Small, nimble bike with gobs of torque, but no high end. I dont care about high speeds, just wanna be able to get around town with some pep. 95% of the driving I will do will require more torque than neck snapping highway accelleration, although the SV has some of that too.

thanks. Thats the '02 though, and I think the front end on that bike is soooo ugly.

I can probably get an '03 for about 200-300 bucks more. The '03s got a redesigned frame, seats, and a BIG plus, it got EFI. Smoother power delivery, extra couple ponies, and also 8-9mpg better fuel economy.

I also think it looks a lot slicker:

In any case, see what she wants for it, I might check out some ideas on modifying the front into a straight naked bike

By yzf I meant R1. I'd rather not be an idiot like many guys I know and get an R6 and lay it down the first month I own it.

And way to go tim, you called me a name. Your ego boosted now? Props for being a jackass.

oh and I'm still looking for an SV, so if someone's got one I'd love to take it off your hands.

Erik, thanks for checking that bike out for me, I really appreciate it.

And will, I know about simply, obviously, I just dont really like the bikes they have in their inventory right now. I'll think about going to them once something comes into stock I like.
