Why are you set on cobb? You could get exhaust thats just as good for less.

    +1

Cobb makes great pieces, but there are definitely others out there that will give you the same results. Shop around...see what you find.

I think he wants Cobb because he is set on both the performance and the exhaust sound. Performance isn't that wonderful if you hate the sounds your car makes.

Wanting a Cobb catback for the sound I can understand, but the dp is crazy overpriced... damn nice, but it's still just a dp on a mild set-up.

Anyway, Cobb is strict about their pricing. You'll likely only get a free shipping discount from any of their vendors. Every now and again Cobb will offer a sale price on some of their items. Buy used if you're set on Cobb.

I bought the Cobb dp and am fine with the price. You get what you pay for sometimes. But yes, you could get a pretty comparable dp or even exhaust for much less but what you like is what you like. That is why people buy what they buy, wear what they wear, listen to what they listen to, and so on and so on. If you complain about prices then look else where but if you are looking for specific parts by specific companies then always look for used first and if that fails then buckle up and pay the price.

Hit up Nabisco, you'll be surprised by the deals you can find on used items.

I have the Cobb catless TBE and love it. Not too loud, not too quiet when ya' get on it. Sounds great, and the quality is great as well. Although my exhaust tone has changed a bit since putting in the 2.5l and a Perrin header :) Now I'm just waiting until it gets a bit warmer out to tune that beeotch... Mmmm 44mm EWG...

I too have the Cobb full TBE sans meow. I definitely paid too much for it but the sound is just perfect for me. Enough roobles, and definitely on the lower end of the 'loud' exhausts.

o.k. So I'll get a little **** for a brand new Cobb Set up, it's alot of $$$

I shouldn't buy the whole set up because I can get a good DP for at least $200 less than the Cobb with very little difference. Helex makes a good DP and so does Agency Power.

Another good system that isn't to much but still an excellent setup would be the MadDad Whisper 3

Ron at RS Motors is the man for the Tune.

    Any other good opinions?

At this point I'm thinking a different DP would save me some $$$ with the everyday fun setup and relatively smaller turbo should I go with a bell mouth DP or a Divorced waste gate setup?

I'm still learning so does anyone know of a book by Corkey Bell on Turbo perfomance?

I'd say if you have the dough to spend, just go with the Cobb setup, sure there are cheaper options but hey, you'll have a sexy exhaust that you are happy with. Otherwise if your on a tight budget you can surely piece together a much cheaper setup than the Cobb turbo back.

I purchased an Invidia DP with UP combo about 60k ago and still like the sound I get mixed with my SPT catback... To each there own, I would say I spent $600 combined for the whole setup and am completely happy with mine. Who knows what you could spend with extra $600??? :dunno:

But you should get the setup you want based on how you want it to sound since you will be living with it! ;)

I bought my car with a full Cobb exhaust. Their stuff is NICE. I kept the downpipe, but someone on nasioc was happy to ship me a almost new Apex GT-Spec for my 50k mi Cobb catback. I kinda miss it sometimes :(

    Seriously though, shop around ;)

    Sorry :hsugh: Cool GOLDEN Chocobo!

I have someone who may have a used Cobb setup......

But still looking, at least a good used DP I can use with a Cobb axle back setup!
