I got a good deal on my XSi from Costco.com but it looks like they have stopped carrying it (probably why I got the good deal).
Thanks guys! I will check out those places. I'd like to stick around 5-600 bucks but it depends on the deal.
Check out "National Camera Exhchang". The "Big(er)" store is located on 169 and hwy 55, north east of intersetion.
i have a nikon d70 which is in very good condition that i'd be willing to let go for $400. it has one lens with it - not sure of the size but can check when i get home. might be able to get another lens for it as well - am almost out of class will call you after.
Depending on what you are looking for, I have pretty good access to a bunch of used Nikon stuff. You can get some pretty sweet deals on some slightly used items. It is just a matter of what you need to get and at what cost. Russ
-10 ittyfool: Sorry, prices are WAY too high. Major rip off. Great store to go play with the different models before buying, though. If you want new check out Adorama or Amazon, possibly Ritz but they'll be more than the other two. Used is tough - DSLR's don't devalue much. That $400 for a D70 sounds like a pretty decent deal.
^If you want good advice when choosing a camera I would highly recommend you pay a visit to Aaron (Discopope on here). He works at the Ritz Camera in the Ridgedale mall. He really knows his stuff, and will let you play with the cameras too.
QFT! Abe's of Maine has a semi shady reputation (or used at least), but I've had good luck with them on stuff (non photo) recently. http://abesofmaine.com B&H Photo has a good rep (or at least used to, I've been out of serious photography for 7-8 years). http://bhphotovideo.com
I am pretty sure that Boss STi and I have worked out a deal. Thanks everyone for all the replies! I am VERY excited to start shooting again. I was very into photography in highschool and college. My bedroom was also a fully setup darkroom in Highschool, and I was on staff for the SCSU college paper. I started to shoot film again, but getting all those rolls processed for a couple good shots was friggin expensive.
Sweet, another person shooting Nikon. If that is the route you go, let me know and I can shoot you a couple of sites to check out. Russ
