WTB: Early 04 STI stub shafts and early WRX front axles

    I screwed up. I thought my 6sp trans could use later female WRX axles. Turns out the stubs were just missing from my 6sp as they are easily removable unlike the early 5sp stubs which require you to disassemble the trans.

    So I need some early WRX female wagon front axles like the top ones:

    And I need some STI stubs like this:

    oops, typo in first line. I thought my 6sp could take later MALE wrx axles. I can't edit my post though.

    Why cant it take later wrx male axles? Just put the other oil seals in?

    running 05+ wrx axles is what im doing and its working just fine why not do that?

    It depends on the transmission you have. The early 6sp transmissions have an extra lip on the bearing retainers so the axle seal does not mate up correctly with the end of the male axle. The dust lip of the male axle actually hits the bearing retainer before it snaps in. The dust lip could be removed from the axle but I don' t think the seal would live very long that way.
